History
Anticross (逆十字) were the seven powerful sorcerers of the Black Lodge, they answered directly to Master Therion, but in order to achieve their personal goals. They were defeated long ago by Kurou Daijuuji. Many years later, Dexter Curwen had associated with the other mystics and magicians of Inspiratio Unum, and when that organization folded, they renamed themselves Anticross, and moved towards the acquiring of magical power for themselves. Their first big break came from their capturing the, tomes of ancient knowledge and power. With these, they achieved various ends by themselves and together, eventually attempting to summon Xel'lotath to this plain of existence, only to be stopped by PARADIGM agents, their allies, and some of their enemies. Dexter Curwen and Xel'lotath's pawn, Anatole Lambach the lich, were seemingly killed.
One of their recent additions, a magically interested and gifted scientist, called Willet, then took the name when the survivors went their own way, his own goals varying from theirs, and became the new leader of Anticross. Taking with him Guildenstern as a fellow scientist, and creating powerful entities called Neuro AIs, Doctor Willet has made his new Anticross in his image, and is still active out there, as one of PARADIGM's most wanted.
Purpose
While the true goal of Dexter Curwen remained unrevealed at the time of his death, the overall group's goals always turned around acquiring more magical power, and eventually, the release of the Ancient God, Xel'lotath. It remains to be seen if their survivors will continue down this line in their own group.
Doctor Willet's goals are yet unrevealed, but magical research has been his primary concern so far, with an emphasis on Summons and those who can achieve it, as well as the creation of the powerful Neuro AIs. Doctor Willet's end goals are still unknown to PARADIGM, however.
