PARADIGM is a long-standing organization dedicated to preventing the escapades of spatial and temporal deviants. They have been active for quite some time in this world and others, but their existence is whispered in rumours among other well connected sources. Many say PARADIGM has ties to other organizations like Section XIII of the Vatican and the Hellsing Organization, all the way down to smaller affairs like Devil May Cry and the original Get Backers.

PARADIGM Goals and Directives

PARADIGM is an organization founded due to the space-time equivalent of a black market's dimension hopping technology sales. Various criminal or military groups have profited from the preponderance of that technology to cause various types of havoc across different dimensions and places, leading to several people getting killed and very, very dangerous people acquiring incredibly powerful artifacts and items.

PARADIGM (also known as the PARADIGM Corps) was created in response to these activities. Wanting to gather people to recapture the stolen artifacts and put an end to the various criminals and terrorists which are causing massive instability across the worlds. Searching for the best, the brightest, the strongest and the unique, PARADIGM recruits are to form an effective and versatile fighting force to stop the tide of inter-dimensional crime and attacks.

Recruits are sought out based on their skills, powers, identities, knowledge, etc. Every one is there of their own volition, for either money, altruism or the potential to challenge themselves against and alongside the most impressive people in a variety of universes.

Hierarchy

PARADIGM Personnel come in three types. Agents, who are recruited across space and time by the PARADIGM representatives.Representatives, who handle the higher level affairs and recruitment of agents. Finally there are PARADIGM Officers, who actually lead the organization. These have a lot of experience as Agents and Representatives, and are chosen for their loyalty and ability to lead.

Standard Operating Procedure

The Following are PARADIGM's rules. (OOC addendums are added in parentheses, like this)

PARADIGM agents are mandated to seek and detain and/or destroy their similarly dimension-displaced opponents. However, due to the effects of inter-dimensional travelers, sometimes they will be called on to deal with in-world politics and situations, and are expected to carry out their mission, even if in an 'alien' territory. (OOCly: This means we'll sometimes do missions with special NPCs and sometimes we'll do missions based on a world, like Naruto-World or Mazinger-World, for example. Probably not Mazinger-World.)

Agents are also expected to exercise discretion when going on the field. While PARADIGM's goals are not actually political or diplomatic at all, there's a concept of stability to keep up, and disrupting everything through egregious displays of power or terror tactics is not usually accepted. As with all things, there are exceptions. (OOCly: This means don't be a douche and bring your Super Saiyan to do a Metal Gear style Sneaking Mission to make everyone else get bored watching your guy beat everyone. It's the classic 'Don't be an ass' rule.)

Agents are expected to capture their quarry alive if possible, but if all other options fail, neutralizing the enemy is acceptable. However, please note that PARADIGM is not an assassin's guild and displays of wanton bloodlust and psychopathy will be punishable by dismissal. (OOCly: Don't play sociopathic, dangerous evil characters on the good guys side without expecting real and immediate consequences. Superpowered Evil Sides are all well and good, but someone who is casually a serial killer/rapist should expect a short lifespan.)

PARADIGM is at most, para-military in organisational structure. While they do not expect everyone familiar with military protocol, they at least expect agents to keep up some standard of living and discipline with one another. Whoever is designated field leader and whatever the assignment is, agents are expected to carry through and follow orders as best they can.

PARADIGM agents are of course given a salary and a pay bonus corresponding with their missions, with the bonus varying by the rank of their assignment, but they arrange for the living arrangements of all their agents.

Equipment:
All PARADIGM agents are given upon accepting recruitment a smart phone which links them directly to PARADIGM's central offices, comes with an in-ear bluetooth/communication device which can be set to any frequency, and an ID card which only functions in their hands. If anyone else picks up the card, the ID will fail to appear. These are to be used both in long range communication and area-range, as a phone and as a comm, respectively.
PARADIGM Agents who get proper clearing from their representatives also get access to different weapons and firearms. To prevent the distribution of hyper advanced technology in an earlier time period, PARADIGM limits the weapons it will allow its agents to use from their personal resources. This said, they will gladly provide replacement parts for those agents with highly advanced tech, or get them some from their own time period.

Missions

Mission Listings

PARADIGM ranks missions on a D to S system to signify the urgency and scale of the mission. The descriptions of the rankings are as follows.

D Rank Missions: Missions of a standard cleanup/containment nature. The danger is localized, the threat is of a relatively small scale, and the mission can be handled by roughly any agent worth their salt, albeit some might need help.
Payment: 1000 dollars.

C Rank Missions: Missions which are of a more serious threat level, actually requiring a bit more than standard action, which can have farther reaching consequences, such as affecting an entire city or area. The dangers involved in this type of mission can vary by the number or the nature of the threat, and are to be taken seriously by all but the strongest of agents.
Payment: 5000 dollars.

B Rank Missions: More serious missions, the kind which can have far-reaching consequences. Often a precursor to something larger and PARADIGM is taking preventative measures, or something of a small-scale disaster. Powerful single targets or organized groups qualify as B Rank missions, and agents are advised to come prepared for the worst.
Payment: 10,000 dollars.

A Rank Missions: Missions of this rank are of a deadly serious nature. An entire country or region is at risk, the danger is widespread or immediate, and things have to be handled decisively and with high risk. Incredibly powerful single opponents with dangerously organized groups or armies might be involved, or actual natural disasters on a country-wide scale. All agents are ordered to proceed with caution, and to end this ASAP.
Payment: 25,000 dollars.

S Rank Missions: Missions for the strongest and most qualified of agents. S Rank missions are of a planetary scale, and the threats are numerous, widespread and incredibly dangerous both on a personal and organizational scale. Several high-ranking agents are required for these kinds of missions, and the urgency is directly proportionate to how widespread the danger is. These might be time and resource consuming missions, and all agents are ordered to be ready to be involved for an extended amount of time.
Payment: 50,000 dollars.

SS and SSS Rank Missions: Missions of an S rank which are on a scale yet unseen. Possibly galactic or universal scale. Expect the apocalypse if a mission of this rank is ever attempted, and all agents are to participate. Note: Any mission which gains the SS rank means it was an S Rank that was not accomplished, so the dangers are doubled or tripled, at least, and all agents are to take up arms and participate.
Payment: 100,000 to 500,000 dollars.
