READ THESE OR GET YOUR ASS BEAT

Hello and welcome to MI2RPG, if you're a new player, and old veteran, or somewhere in between, please read these rules. They'll set for the tone what we want in channel, and probably make you look like a cool dude instead of a total dork if you follow them. These rules are generally things that we all understand, but they'll be laid out more clearly below.

Quick Rules

FOLLOW THIS OR GET YOUR ASS BEAT.

IC Stuff

  • Cliques: None of this.
  • IC Consequences: Understand IC actions will have consequences that can spill over into OOC. Try to work things out with the ops or the player..
  • Powergaming, Metagaming: Don't. If you think you are, stop.
  • PC Combat/Conflict: This is MI2, PCs will probably end up fighting each other, and this can lead to problems..so here's my advice. This is an ANIME INN channel. Work with the other player to build a cool scene, and have fun with it. It's never about winning. Remember these are anime characters and adjust accordingly....just because you think your dude is from a 'stronger' series than another...doesn't mean he can do everything better... basically be responsible and have fun...remember this is anime physics..don't powergame to win, but don't lord your ultimate power over others either and we'll all have fun
  • Take Something that Fits: Due to the channel being overshadowed by an organization that requires people to be a team.. let's not take characters who have no motivation or no desire to want to help. I.E. Please have a reason WHY your character would want to help PARADIGM and why your character wants to be here. It can be anything (they want to fight, they want to save the world, they want adventure.. whatever!).

OOC Stuff

  • Respect Treat other players with respect
  • YES THIS IS AN ANIME GEN2 CHANNEL RPG ON IRC: This is here to be fun. IF that's not your bag, there are other channels to play in. Seriously man what are you even doing.
  • Major Changes to the Setting: If you have a cool idea that's awesome! Just talk to the OPs. Make sure everyone is on the same page
  • Complaining, Whining, Etc: Look, this is an anime inn chan, modernized. So stop. (ex. IT ISN'T FAIR I DON'T GET JURAI WHEN SO AND SO HAS SUCH AND SUCH) The people who are putting the most work into this just don't like some things. Just find something that fits instead of making comparisons.
  • Character Modifications: We all know each other and get along here, but character progression/transformation/change is something that should be discussed with the ops. We don't have a set of rules, we don't have a time limit, we don't have twelve labours and intensive forced RP to put you through. But we would like a heads up or an idea of what you have in mind for your character, because we DO sometimes plan things around character X or Y and if they changed things, it could get awkward on the spot. Post on the forums with what you have in mind and we will get back to you to discuss things further.

Missions

  • Be Respectful: Someone is running a mission? Cool! They are giving you free entertainment. Try not to complain, and understand this place will have a high turn-around of missions, if you don't want to be involved, that's ok, but don't complain. Just wait a bit, if the mission takes off, people want to do it.
  • Trust The GMs: Please don't forget this. We KNOW your characters. We KNOW our NPCs. We're not throwing out people at you you can just face roll with ease. If we feel your characters COULD over power the mission.. we will upscale the villains or add extras accordingly. Do not assume that the two Villainous NPCs are just a speedbump that your character can bowl over. Most importantly, do not attempt to No Sell anything a villain does. Different series have different rules. Different powers react differently. If you have a complaint, tell the GM in message but do not type out 'No it doesn't work', especially if we say it does. We DO know what we're doing and we try to keep each other in check, so if we're saying something, it's been thought out and agreed do. So please try to keep this in mind. Just because it shouldn't work in 'Real Life' doesn't mean that's how it works in Final Fantasy or One Piece or Get Backers.
  • Mission Submission: If you have a mission idea.. great! The more people contribute the more complete the experience is. But we, the ops, would like to please now what the mission is about. Feel free to post on the forums with your mission idea, where we can look at it when we get online. Just so we know what we're getting into. If nothing else it might let us work more of the metaplot into the mission or postpone something similar we have planned.

Now for the Meat and Taters
