Appearance

Incredibly athletic, Xiulan is physically strong and well-built with definitive muscle tone and a powerful frame from years of physical exercise and supplement use. She has pretty, bright green eyes and dark, long hair, with a pretty complexion and a somewhat crooked smile. She dresses in trendy clothes when out of a uniform, but when "on duty" she prefers PARADIGM/ISF blue and silver uniforms and strong combat armor.

Personality

Standing in stark contrast to her martial ability and obvious intelligence, Xiulan is... goofy. She's fun-loving and carefree, but has the ability to "switch off" and get in the zone when she has to. She can be mischievious and is somewhat prone to blunders.

Background

Xiulan grew up in a brick, ranch-style home (a compromise between her parents) with a white picket fence, a shiba inu for a pet, and loving parents. Her mother raised her to be athletic and self-reliant while her father guided her into art and science, both aiding in her conventional education and turning her into a star student. Xiulan's latent extra-sensory perception and powerful tekekinetic potential manifested during her adolescence, prompting both of her parents to contribute to learning and harnessing them.

Rather than go right into secondary education, Xiulan opted to join the PARADIGM Corps (thanks to her parents' connections) and qualified for officer training school. Her athleticism, quick-thinking problem solving, powerful metahuman ability, and sheer talent in combat helped her excel, allowing her to graduate magna cum laude with a commissioned Special Agent rank.

• Time Sense (1): You have an innate sense of time, and can with a good deal of accuracy tell what time it is without a watch. In performing feats where timing may be essential (such as certain combat or athletic maneuvers), difficulties may be lowered or dropped.
• Well-Traveled (3): You are knowledgeable of the ways of the world from your travels and studies. Once per mission, you can roll against a difficulty 6 (just a die roll, no modifiers). If successful, the GM tells you information about the situation if it makes sense

  • Telekinesis - Xiulan is a very powerful telekinetic, including exerting remote force on objects around her, projecting blasts of psychic energy (Psycho Ball), projecting force fields in a defensive fashion, and personal levitation.
  • Telepathy (Limited) - Xiulan is a very limited telepath and requires great focus for it to function. This is best used in interrogation situations, when a subject's mental fortitude is down ("broken").
  • Teleportation (Limited) - Xiulan can teleport within her own natural line-of-sight.
  • Psi-Armor - A self-enhancing "ipsokinesis" technique that bolsters Xiulan's natural abilities, including a layer of "body armor" that surrounds her body.
  • Psychometry - Xiulan can detect psychic "imprints" left on items from other entities, including flashbacks and moments of clairvoyance in relation to that particular item.

• Overconfident (1): You think you can do everything even though you probably can't, and you try to prove your belief as often as possible.
• Airhead (1): Maybe you have trouble paying attention, maybe you're just clueless, maybe you just look like a flake; no matter what, people don't take you seriously. You generally have a -1 Social rolls penalty when dealing with serious/dire situations.
• Curiosity (2): Your incredible curiosity often overrides your common sense. Resisting temptation requires a successful Wits roll, difficulty depending on the situation. A very bad flaw to take with certain evil sadistic GMs.
