Appearance

Kazuma is a very muscular, in-shape man in his early twenties. He has a massive frame and an incredibly imposing presence. His hair is a bit wild and oddly presented, but always looks styled when he's out in public. He usually wears expensive suits and silk shirts when he's being social, such as it is, and comfortable and high-end training equipment when in battle or working out.
On his left arm is a Mugen Tenshin Clan Symbol, mark of where he grew up and his honoring of that part of his life. On his right arm, however, is a Tattoo of the Devil Gene, more like a mark which can pass off as that, shared with his brother Jin Kazama.

Personality

Kazuma is a cold and confrontational ass. Through no excusable reason, he used to be much more polite and kind, but his life has made him rather bitter and jaded towards how other people are. He is arrogant and condescending, and incredibly pragmatic. He usually hides his disdain with an aloofness and normally talks AT people instead of TO them. Kazuma is not the type to make friends easily, but he also has no problem talking to people, until they become boorish.

Background

A long time ago, during a Mishima Zaibatsu/DOATec collaboration tournament, the Mugen Tenshin ninja Kasumi came into conflict with the head of G Corporation, Kazuya Mishima. He was an evil, dangerous man, and her duty, to her brother, to her sister and to her friends, was to make sure this man never got his hands on any of them or DOATec's information about the Mugen Tenshin Ninja Clan. She stalked him to his rental office and attacked him. At which point Kazuya proceeded to destroy her. Brutally. She had underestimated this man and now she was paying for it. When she woke up, she was trapped by Kazuya, and for the following weeks, he had his way with her.
Eventually, Kasumi's allies and friends broke her free of Kazuya and forced him to back away from his plans. However, the damage had been done, and Kasumi was with child. Due to extenuating circumstances, Hayate made the clan accept her back.. which was considerably easier after what she'd done. She gave birth to Kazuma, and eventually moved on with her life, raising her son as one of the ninja of Mugen Tenshin. In the early years of his life, Kazuma had no problems. He trained alongside Tatsumi, and other ninja of the village. While some had questions about his father, it was a little hard to tell the nephew of the village leader much of anything.. and with Ayane's history, not a lot of that was going to be allowed anymore.
When Kazuma was a teenager, his existence became known to the G Corporation, and Kazuya Mishima had reasons to want a son by now. The G Corp troops attacked the village, and Kazuya sought out his son's power. Kazuma did everything in his power to fight off Kazuya, but it was like trying to punch a waterfall. Kazuya simply crushed Kazuma and told him he could either come back with him and be with his father, or he could die with everyone in the village. Kazuma made the choice to go with his father, and was followed by Tatsumi, who didn't want to be separated from her childhood friend.
From there, Kazuma was told about the story of the Mishima Family, and was mercilessly trained by his father in the Mishima Style Karate. He was chosen to replace Jin as Kazuya's actual heir, but the real reason he was there was to have a different control group for the Devil Gene testing, other than Kazuya himself. Kazuma grew to resent his father.. but he was shocked by his personal assistant, a woman called only Alpha-237. She looked.. talked.. and act almost exactly like Kazuma's mother, which broke down his defenses and eventually had him open up to her.. which of course, just led to him being more easily kept under his father's thumb.
He also forcefully learned a lot about business and corporate takeovers, ownership and other such things, so much so that when he got old enough, one of his tasks was to take over a series of smaller companies. Kazuma did that mercilessly, through intimidation, bribery and straight forward presence, which led him to be rewarded as head of Acquisitions of the G Corporation. However, after his failure at getting the Ergheiz weapon, Kazuya called him to his office and asked him if he was aware of what his job actually was, and berated him. Getting more and more angry, Kazuma turned to Alpha for support, who basically backed Kazuya the whole way.
Seeing his son crushed, Kazuya realized the only thing he could do to make things right. He proceeded to deliver the most brutal beatdown to Kazuma he'd ever received, telling him there was more of him where he came from, putting him in his place as the bastard son of some meaningless whore, and after this string of failures, he would be replaced himself at this point. Kazuya had apparently REALLY needed the Ergheiz, and Kazuma's lack on delivering it enraged him. After the beating, he kicked Kazuma out the window of his penthouse office, to his death.
Kazuma's Devil Gene activated just in time to save him from death, but not from crashing, and now, he had to run. G-Corporation soldiers were coming, and he went into hiding. Taking as much of his money stash as he could, he made his way to a safehouse, to rest and recover. When he was done healing (having gotten street doctors and private nurses), he contacted PARADIGM and asked for a job, both to hide from Kazuya and because he'd need their help to take him down. The way he was, he wasn't going to beat him down just yet.

Mishima Style Fighting Karate - (三島流喧嘩空手 Mishima-ryū Kenka Karate)

Powerful karate style, developed to incorporate both quick strikes and powerful hits, using every part of the body as a complete weapon. The most powerful abilities of the Mishima Style Karate are the Mist Step, a sudden and water-like fluid movement which can lead into a powerful chain of attacks, or a simple three-hit combo from a power punch, then a double rising uppercut. Every part of the body is used in Mishima Style Karate, and to even begin to use it properly, one needs an exceedingly powerful body.

  • Mist Step: Kazuma can move so fast as to leave an after image, and doing so lets him avoid any attacks for a brief moment, such as blurring through an energy blast or avoiding a frenzy of blows. He has to dash forwards while doing this, and this is a purely defensive move, but he can combo from it into his other attacks. As good as this sounds, this is not an 'invincibility frame'. Kazuma steps exactly the same distance every time, and in a straight line. Anyone who can fight who sees him perform this move more than once will know where he'll come out of, and be prepared for it. This is either a good surprise attack, or great with a teammate, to close the distance.
  • Wind God Fist (風神拳 Fūjinken): Kazuma will perform a crouch-dash (in Kazuma's case a light-dash can also be performed thanks to his Mist Step), and while rising from a crouching position, will launch a powerful and solid uppercut that sends the enemy flying into the air.
    • Fastest Wind God Fist (最速風神拳 Saisoku Fūjinken): Kazuma will perform a crouch-dash (in Kazuma's case a light-dash can also be performed thanks to his Mist Step), and while rising from a crouching position, will launch a powerful and solid uppercut that sends the enemy flying into the air. This is done while engulfed in electricity, which causes additional damage.
  • Thunder God Fist (雷神拳 Raijinken): Dashing forward into a crouch, Kazuma launches himself into the air with an electrified high impact uppercut, to knock the opponents off their feet. This is a good anti-air and step-in attack, but someone familiar with it, or its alternative versions (Shoryuken) can counter it. A powerful attack if not his fastest.
  • Flashing Rage Fists (閃光烈拳 Senkō Rekken): A series of forward-moving punches, delivered with high speed and higher impact, some of Kazuma's energy flashing through as he delivers the hits, and forcing the opponent on the defensive, or on the receiving end of a series of high impact jabs and straights to the face/upper body.
  • Demon-Wracking Fists (鬼哭連拳 Kikoku Renken): A series of high impact punches, followed by a powerful and high-speed backhand, delivering as much punishment into a single volley as Kazuma can deliver. The backhand can shatter unprepared opponents' defenses, and this move can be done quickly enough to counterattack an opponent who didn't knock down Kazuma in a fight, or who failed to hit.
  • Demon Backhand Spin: A single jab followed by a devastating backhand punch, the second which hits with explosive power. Kazuma can hit with the backhand even faster than the jab, made to open up the opponent. This is a very strong, quick hit attack.
  • Tsunami Kick (踵落とし Kakato Otoshi): A rising crescent kick, which right after it connects on the opponent's head or upper body, is then followed by a heel drop axe kick, causing a two-hit instant chain.
  • Right Heel Drop (右踵落とし Migi Kakato Otoshi): A high-started descending kick, made to knock an opponent back or force him to guard high.
  • Left Heel Drop (左踵落とし Hidari Kakato Otoshi): A high-started descending kick, made to knock an opponent down.
  • Hell Sweeps (奈落払い Naraku Barai): Sliding in low, Kazuma spins on himself three times, sweeping at the enemy's leg while crouched, to knock them down and back. He is able to hit a felled opponent with this attack, up to three times in either case.
  • Smashing Kick (破砕蹴 Hasaishū): Lunging forward and performing a somersault, Kazuma drops both legs one after the other on his target, with his full strength. He lands on his back, but if the hit connected, his opponent is likely knocked down or knocked back enough that he can kippup immediately.
  • Super Headbutt (超ぱちき Chō Pachiki): Grabbing his opponent, Kazuma delivers a devastating headbutt, with enough force to knock them back and down.
  • Spiral Blade Assault Kick (螺旋襲刃脚/Rasen Shuujin Kyaku): Kazuma's version of this technique involved him sweeping low, then immediately rising with a powerful thrust kick to knock the opponent up, and then following up with a powerful axe kick to send them back down into the ground, hard, all the while moving in a spiral pattern.
  • Mishima Style Ten Hit Combo: Kazuma performs a Demon Slayer-esque flurry of punches, followed by a straight left kick, an axe kick, a low right kick, two left-right uppercuts, and then finishing the combo with a Dragon Uppercut.

Mugen Tenshin Taijutsu - Tenjin Mon (霧幻天神流 - 体術)

A style based almost entirely on quick strikes and rapid counters. Many acrobatic moves and fluid followups are used in this open handed style, focusing on quick series of hits, usually in three or four hit combos. Signature moves include counters which allow the user to blur behind the opponent after yanking them forward, karate chopping at their neck; a downward yank on the attacking arm and then bicycle kicking the opponent's leg, chest and head, into the ground; and a counter technique in which Kazuma rolls onto his back and double kicks up at the opponent's chest. Several grappling techniques are part of this style as well.

  • Rengetsu, Reppu: Kazuma launches into a two-punch flurry, then followed by a somersault kick to knock his opponent into the air along with himself. While in mid air, he blurs so fast as if teleporting to dash-strike through them and knock them into the ground while landing past them.
  • Tenbu, Reppu: Kazuma jumps into the air and kicks his opponent in the head. While bouncing back off them, he dash-strikes at them from the air, landing past them and trying to knock them down and away from him after the first hit.
  • Oboro Gake: Stepping forward (this can be performed from the Mist Step), Kazuma suddenly blurs forward and slashes hard across his opponent, attempting to blow through them with speed and force.
  • Tenro Kyaku: Hopping onto his opponent's face, Kazuma kicks down, then basically stomps their head all the way into the ground like a bicycle kick, relentlessly and brutally.
  • Tzusumi Garuma From very close, Kazuma grabs his opponent's head or shoulder, then flips past them and, while landing on his back, still holding onto their head, kicks up into their back twice, before delivering a powerful, air-launching power kick, to send them flying straight up, and then down.
  • Shigure-Mai: Kazuma counters a mid-level attack by blocking it, then twisting on the opponent and forcing their limb forward, before dropping and power-kicking them into the air, using their momentum to send them flying.
  • Kakinomi-Gari: Kazuma blocks an incoming high kick, then uses the extended leg as a support, before jumping and landing with both feet on the opponent's face.

Mugen Tenshin Ninjutsu - (霧幻天神流 -忍術)

Kazuma is trained in ninjutsu techniques, able to hide himself, trade places with objects and disappear from sight with just a few moments of concentration. Practiced larceny and meditation techniques are also part of Ninjutsu.

  • Sakura Madoi: Kazuma can vanish from sight (or a strike) and appear behind an opponent. This isn't a teleportation, but a ninjutsu technique which distracts the opponent with a puff of smoke, then has Kazuma basically 'blur' behind him. Using this in combination with his Mist Step can allow him to ensure he won't get caught. (Basically Kawarimi no Jutsu).

Powers & Merits

Devil Gene: Kazuma has the Devil Gene. Due to gene therapy treatments from the G Corporation and because of his ninjutsu meditative and illusion training, Kazuma is able to harness the power of the Devil occasionally, granting him the ability to generate spheres of devil energy at different ranges, as part of his Mist Step combination attacks. He also has the ability to dramatically increase his strength and endurance while releasing some of the Devil's power, or more than triple it when he loses control.
Devil Beam: The full power attack, after a fully powered four hit attack using the Devil Power, Kazuma leaps into the air, a 'third eye' appears in his forehead, and he fires a powerful laser-like beam of chi to smash through the opponent, with incredible force.

Merits

Eidetic Memory (2pts): Kazuma never forgets a face, or a place, or a number. This is a major edge in finance.
Danger Sense (3pts): Perhaps because of his ninja training, or because of his Devil Gene, but either way, Kazuma usually knows when trouble is afoot.
Local Ties (3pts): Kazuma is well known in both the world of finance and the underworld. He is able to get things done and information gotten among criminals. Even on other worlds, he knows how to handle criminals and get his way.
Graceful (2pts): Kazuma moves like a damn cat, a surprise for his size, but this comes from a childhood of learning ninja training.

Weaknesses & Flaws

Overconfidence: Kazuma is dangerous overconfident of his abilities.
Devil Gene: Linked to the above, Kazuma is convinced he can control his Devil Gene, where in fact he is as likely to succumb to it as any other of his bloodline.

  • Devil Gene Purification: Holy or Spiritual power (priests, Kazama bloodline) can force the Devil Gene to go back into dormancy, which is necessary if he loses control. This having been said, it can also cancel out his powers (see 'Powers') if used against him when in combat.

Manipulated: Kazuma will do anything Alpha-237 will tell him to do, which is why he is currently part of the G Corporation and not the Mugen-Tenshin Shinobi clan. This has mostly fallen in disuse, but he still cannot fight back against her.
Nuke-nin: He is a missing-nin from the Mugen Tenshin, and they are after him.

Flaws

Driving Goal (3pts): Destroy Kazuya Mishima and gain control of the G Corporation.
Enemy (4pts): Kazuya Mishima, Alpha 237, G-Corporation.
Hatred (3pts): Kazuya Mishima. Heihachi Mishima. Weird how things are cyclical with this family.
Nightmares (1pt): Kazuma has nightmares about his growing up under Kazuya, and of the drop.
Phobia: Heights (1pt): Kazuma is uncomfortable near heights since the incident, and would rather avoid having to be near anyplace he can fall from.
Offensive to Animals (1pt): Kazuma's Devil Gene makes many animals uneasy and aggressive around him.
Rival (3pts): Shen Kazama, Kazuma's nephew, who has a long-standing rivalry with him.
Twisted Upbringing (1pt): Kazuma believes might makes right, that the weak are the food of the strong, and that he who controls both power and money can control the world. This said, a lot of this has been turned on its head after he was betrayed by Kazuya, so he's not exactly as adamant about this as before. But Kazuma is unsympathetic and believes in fierceness and power over compassion and caring.
Hero Worship (1pt): Alpha 237.
Sadist (1pt): Kazuma does not play nice. He fights to win, and if winning means breaking people, so be it. He is not satisfied just beating an opponent, he has to beat them DOWN, and hard. He does not take kids gloves, and responds to force with more force.
Vengeance (2pts): Kazuma wants to destroy anything linked to the G Corporation, and will do self-destructive things to get back to Kazuya Mishima.
