***'''Suggestion''': Using a mildly hypnotic effect, Raven can attempt to make a verbal suggestion to a target.  It cannot compel anyone to take any action against their will, only allowing a slightly higher chance that the target will accept the spoken suggestion.  Therefore, a suggestion the target is likely to accept will have a much higher rate of success.

***'''Fear''': Raven can attempt to tap into the subconscious mind of an enemy to trigger a fear-like response.  The effect works better on people with highly active imaginations, and can usually be resisted fairly simply with an act of willpower.  Also, interfacing with the subconscious mind of another psychic can be quite dangerous, with a high chance of psychic backlash.

Appearance

Raven is of average height and weight. He has black hair reaching just past his shoulders, and unnatural bright red eyes which glow faintly when using some of his techniques. He is incredibly pale for a Japanese, or even for a caucasian, making the veins in his arms and neck clearly visible. He often has a slight smile, yet usually allows very little emotion into his facial features.
He generally prefers dark suits or black clothing.

Personality

Raven seems to be a pleasant, charming, refined, soft-spoken young man who seems generally unperturbed by most things, and usually has a smile. However, deep down he feels very little sense of direction or ambition other than survival and trying to avoid the more damaging of his foretold predictions. He does however harbor a deep concern and protective instinct toward his close friends, and will often go to great lengths to spare them from harm or heartache, real or percieved.

Background

Dark Prophet
The child of Agito Makishima and Kyoko Matsumoto, Raven was born and raised in a cabin just outside the Castle. Growing up, Raven found kinship in the other psychic children, however his powerful sense of precognition alienated some, and Eve's hostile attitude towards him wounded him deeply, leading to lifelong insecurities about his own strength and a violent sense of competition.
Raven grew up despising his father for all the pain he caused his mother, which fueled his instability and paranoia. As he grew up he began experimenting in the dark arts alongside his psychic training, and even discovered means of time travel, travelling back to his parents era, ostensibly to protect his unborn self but actually to alter the timeline to produce what he considered a 'better result', a practice which would spiral him into madness. He was one of the first and most disruptive to breach the timeline in such a way, and was one of the prime reasons for the creation of what would come to be known as THACO.
During a type of processing where Raven's body was used as a host for an alien virus, he was percieved as a threat and destroyed by the reploid Zero.
Towards the Future
During a mission for the Basileus of Liberty, Shamash, the Agents were sent to an underground fortress called the Tower where they were tasked with retrieving Raven, who was being used as a sort of organic computer. After being recovered and brought back to the Inn, Raven had his memories restored by the Lady Cassandra Argeades, and agreed to join PARADIGM as an Agent.

Powers

(Unique, or hereditary, in-born powers, whether due to genetics or magic, things that can't be taught to others or simply gifted to this person from an outside force. Powers based on weapons should go in the Items.)

  • Psychic
    • Telekinesis: Raven is a very skilled telekinetic, though not especially powerful. He can lift and maneuver large objects, or a few man-sized or smaller objects at once. as well as push or grab objects with great force and precision, and can use this offensively in the form of a crushing pressure or a series of high speed strikes, or defensively in the form of a wall or barrier.
      • Telekinetic Wield: Using Telekinesis, Raven is able to lift and wield oversized weapons within the range of his telekinetic strength with relative ease. He may or may not choose to hold the weapon in his hands while he does so.
      • Spatial Awareness: When not using psychokinesis to move objects, Raven can channel it into a passive barrier 5-10 meters in diameter, inside which, Raven can detect motion. While useless for avoiding things like bulltes, it can give him the illusion of having 360 degree sight.
      • Flight: Raven can use his telekinesis to fly at up to 60 mph, though at speeds above 20 mph he needs his telekinesis to shield himself from wind or be badly buffeted, limiting his ability to use it for other purposes while in flight.
      • Psychic Surgery: By initiating physical contact with a subject, Raven can access their nervous system to perform physical diagnosis, from which he can attempt to regulate or alter personal biochemistry for self healing, or telekinetically use internal tissues to surgially repair wounds, even aligning (but not mending) bones and repairing damages blood vessels, disabling nerve endings (or suppressing the brain's pain center entirely).

    • Telepathy: Raven is a strong telepath. He can speak telepathically and hear thoughts directed to him. He can sense surface thoughts of people nearby as a passive ability. He can also delve into the conscious mind of another at short range, however doing so is very difficult..
      • Contact Delving: By making physical contact with a target near a major nerve ending, Raven can telepathically delve into their psyche or memories. He must still bypass the willpower or psychic defenses of the target to extract any information, and is similarily quite vulnerable to feedback or mental counterattack in this state, but is likewise much stronger in his ability to bypass mental defenses and conditioning.
      • Fear: Raven can attempt to tap into the subconscious mind of an enemy to trigger a fear-like response. The effect works better on people with highly active imaginations, and can usually be resisted fairly simply with an act of willpower. Also, interfacing with the subconscious mind of another psychic can be quite dangerous, with a high chance of psychic backlash.
      • Subconscious Programming: Although highly sensitive to psychic feedback and emotional trauma, Raven seems to have an almost unprecedented ability to recover from all but the most severe trauma within a matter of days, usually with virtually no lasting damage. It appears this is due to alterations made to sections of his brain related to the subconscious mind, and may also be related to his limited emotional state and lack of coherant memory.
      • Advanced Mental Combat: Raven is an expert in mind-to-mind combat, and can outclass even a skilled psychic in a mental link. He has both the skill and guile to outwit or outmaneuver a stronger opponent, and overpower even telepaths and empaths of great strength.

    • Empathy: Raven can feel powerful emotions eminating from others such as intense rage, sadness or joy.
      • Empathic Defence: Similar to a Newtype, by sensing an opponent's surface emotions, Raven gains a passive bonus to his ability to dodge attacks. An opponent who routinely channels their killing intent will be at a disadvantage in combat with Raven, similarily, an opponent who has or expresses little to no emotion or acts totally on reflex can negate this ability.

    • Psychometry: Raven can glean information from objects by touching them, such as what the object was used for, who primarily used it, and the emotional state of the person using it, or in the case of weapons, of their victims. Induces a trance-like state.

    • Variable Precognition: Raven often has precognitive visions of the future, however he experiences so many that often times he has difficulty distinguishing one from the other, and also the fact that many seem to conflict or contradict each other, lending credence to the possibility that he sees not definite futures, but glimpses of many possible outcomes. Therefore Raven rarely claims to see what will happen, but more frequently can speculate on what may happen. This ability works subconsciously.
      • Retrocognition: Tied to his abilities of Psychometry and Precognition, Raven can sometimes see afterimages or memories of past events, often memories of other people. This ability serves to further dilute his precognitive certainties, and also may cause him to believe a retrocognitive vision to be one of his own memories, or vice versa.

    • Extreme Tolerance: Due to the amoung of processing his mother recieved, Raven is highly resistanct to toxins and drugs that alter the mind or brain chemistry.,, and he can metabolise them at a mich higher rate than normal. Mind-altering drugs and painkillers much there for be used in exceptionally high quantities to have the desired effect.

Merits

  • Poison Resistance (2): You have an innate ability to resist the effects of many toxins. Whenever you need to roll to resist poisons, you get a +2 Bonus.
  • Animal Magnetism (1): You have the "WOA DUDE BANG ME" aura, and receive a +1 Bonus on seduction and similar rolls (though this may inspire jealousy in the people who view you as competition). This is a Merit seldom taken seriously in the Chat Rooms, as it's been too often used by players whose intent is seldom gaming...
  • Iron Will (5): You cannot be mind-controlled easily, and getting you to surrender is borderline impossible. When magical (or other) mind-control is attempted on you, both roll and you get a +3 bonus to your roll. It's possible to do it, but you'll fight it with every fiber of your being, and will not stay in thrall very long.

Unique Items

Items Of Note

Weaknesses

  • Fanatic: Raven's desire to protect those close to him borders on obsessional, and he will go to almost any lengths to eliminate anything he considers a threat to them.
  • Sensitive: Raven is very sensitive telepathically and empathically, and thus is quite susceptible to psychic feedback or to being in contact with large numbers of people experiencing distress or trauma.

Flaws

  • Enemy (4): Andromeda: A Lost Number based on the biodata of Aptom. Created by Kronos to hunt down Agito Makishima and his decendants.
  • Nightmares (1): You're constantly plagued by nightmares, which at the worst may indicate there's something nasty in your fate, and at the least will make you cranky and irritable most of the time. A particularly bad night may cause you to have a -1 penalty on all rolls.
