Personality

Ciel is a fairly calm and collected guy. He projects an aura of confidence and usually manages to keep a cool head in even stressful situations. He has managed to do this so well, he responds to shock or anger with a dry wit and an acerbic tongue. Ciel has become quite the deadpan snarker in his life, likely to throw a veiled or overt insult at a situation or opponent, both as a means to get them off their game or as a way to point out the ridiculousness of the situation.. or their goal. He spares no one this dry and sharp wit, not even himself, as he's quite good at self-deprecation.
Partially due to this, Ciel has a no-bullsh*t attitude towards most people and situations. He usually does not let people live in self-delusion (the poop will not be allowed to stack up before he kicks it down), and he doesn't let people entertain unattainable goals. While he isn't mean spirited, he usually responds to grandiose, dream-like goals or clearly unrealistic expectations with lines like 'And then what?' or '...so?', usually by reflex.
This said, he isn't a mean individual or even particularly callous or aloof. He's quite capable of taking time out and 'chilling', but he has a life-long military career shaping his background and is normally job-oriented, and focused primarily on the bottom line. He has a strong set of morals, though, which means he wouldn't associate with terrorists or dangerous or callous individuals, and is quite quick to cut through any terror-based of self-aggrandizing ideology.
