Appearance

Vanille is a tall, lithe lady with an athletic frame. She has long blond hair and vibrant green eyes that sometimes sport a mischevious look. Other times she looks quite playful and at ease. She prefers to wear monochromatic toned outfits and likes to keep her shoulders bare.


Personality

Naive, Curious.. Social. Vanille has been sheltered most of her life and although her kind grow to being thousands of years old, she knows very little of life at all.

Background

Vanille's brother, Aezrael, reborn as a Lich.

Though being rare in her home world in the past, White Elves were once very common. The entire race of what is now known as Whitrinde were born when the White Elves and the humans that are now confined primarily to the mountain Aett inter-bred (due to the fact that they naturally populated the same climates, and therefore often the same places as the Elves.) White elves are remarkably good hunters and musicians, as well as natural-born magic wielders.

Vincordia is an abandoned settlement to the north of Port au Leydia that went out of use once the town had formed it's own treasury on location, and it was no longer necessary to separate the coffers from the populace of the city. After it went out of use, most people moved to Leydia proper, though some remained, trying to retain a sense of racial pride. In more recent times, Vincordia is a name that most people have forgotten in Vanille's world; although it is pinpointed on some maps, it is uncommon. Even on the maps that have its location placed, it is never marked with a name. It is the general consensus that due to the natural fortifications provided to the little town by the surrounding mountains, as well as it's desolate location at a high altitude, it's not somewhere anyone would have a reason to go.

It was in these conditions that Vanille was born. She was isolated and never knew much of the world outside of her village. There were wars in which her family fought.. her cousin and her brother who had perished and was resurrected as a liche. Once her cousin, Serrathea, was murdered.. Vanille vowed to go out and find the ones responsible for her death. She quickly found out that the ones responsible were vampires. Before she could enact her revenge.. Vanille was lost into a magical void.. and then rescued by PARADIGM. She was offered a way to further her skills and prevent others from losing their loved ones the way she had.. so she agreed to join.

Special Abilities

  • CQC (Close Quarter Combat): Vanille is proficient in hand to hand fighting, she's very athletic and can do flips and leaps. Her fighting style is very primal and tiger-like. (lot of scratching! Hooray.)

Powers & Merits

Vanille is still in the learning process of most of her magic, although she is very apt and a quick learner. Her skills mostly hone and focus on anything that would help her with stealth/ close combat.

  • Frost Skin: Vanille has the ability to make her skin incredibly cold to the point where a thin layer of ice helps shield herself from attacks that would normally damage someone a lot greater. This doesn't mean she can't take hits, but this allows her to stay in combat with someone twice her size. She also can use this ability to give her basic punches and kicks a little more weight behind them for additional damage.
  • Frost Blades: Vanille can extend blades at the end of her fingertips in combat made of ice. The density is so high that it can compare to diamond. The blades do not extend longer than 6 inches.
  • Frost Blades (Extended): Vanille can detatch the blades from her fingers and throw them like daggers at enemies.
  • Gust: With the aid of the chilling winds, Vanille can leap and jump higher than an average person. She can get to very high altitudes and spots, like building roofs and lightly float around. She can also use this to help aid her close quarter combat techniques. IE. she can kick with a wind gust boost behind it for additional speed and damage.
  • Raising: Vanille knows the spell to bring -one- individual back from the dead. She would only use this to get answers from someone that wasn't cooperating in their "living" state. Currently, she does not have a zombie friend. :(

Merits

  • Acute Senses "Hearing" (1): One of your five senses is incredibly sharp, and Alertness rolls involving this sense have a +1 Bonus. You must buy this merit separately for each sense.
  • Ability Aptitude "Stealth" (1): Pick a single skill, talent, or knowledge: you're a whiz at whatever this is. +1 Bonus to all rolls using this ability. (Does not count for Athletics/Alertness)
  • Danger Sense (3): "Oh no! My Spider Senses are tingling!" A successful Alertness roll, difficulty depending on the situation, will give you a timely sense of foreboding before something bad happens...
  • Graceful (2): You are extremely agile and delicate in your movements. +1 Bonus on all Athletics rolls.
  • Catlike Balance (2): Difficulties for balance-related Athletics rolls are at -1.
  • Double-Jointed (1): Athletics rolls involving escape or dis-entangling are at -1 Difficulty.

Weaknesses & Flaws

Flaws can go here. Balance is key!

  • Vanille has the typical weaknesses that her race is accustomed to. She dislikes heat and getting hot. ^^; ...so a job where she gets incredibly sweaty and worked up greatly annoys her. Burns and outright fire can cripple her out of her magic using state.
  • Vanille also dislikes darkness, she must literally -force- herself whenever she has a stealth motive.. to get through the dark areas as quick as possible. The longer Vanille stays in that situation, the longer she loses her nerve and can be susceptible to anxiety.
  • Vendetta: Vanille has an important vendetta in finding the ones responsible for killing her relative. She could be potentially fooled/bribed/manipulated if this information falls into the wrong hands. ... or if someone lies to her and tells her they know something.
  • Kleptomaniac: Vanille loves extravagance.. ..and shiny things. She gets distracted easily by shiny things.
  • Naive: Vanille isn't "stupid" per se, but she's naive in many things due to her lack of experience outside of her continent and due to her young age.

Flaws

  • Compulsion "Shiny things/Getting Rich" (1): You have a specific compulsion which may cause you problems. You might need to roll (Diff 6) to resist this. Fits with Vanille's Kleptomania flaw. If it sparkles, it'll catch her eye.. even if it could be seen as something worthless in the world she's visiting.
  • Curiosity (2): Your incredible curiosity often overrides your common sense. Resisting temptation requires a successful Wits roll, difficulty depending on the situation. A very bad flaw to take with certain evil sadistic GMs. Vanille's been sheltered her whole life.. so EVERYTHING looks new and exciting to her. She wants to know what it is and what it does. Always.
  • Intolerance "Vampires" (1): You have difficulty tolerating a specific thing or type of person, and are likely to snap at them and be dismissive. Her family was killed by them. She dislikes them. A lot. And in her world they're druggies that can get you stuck on it too.
  • Illiterate (1): You can't read or write. This may make passing yourself off as that learned professor from Oxford a bit difficult. Vanille can read and write ancient elven.. ...that won't work in Tokyo, Japan.
  • Otherworldly Taint (2): You have a physical peculiarity (odd hair/eye color, glowing eyes, etc.) and/or just an odd aura about you which may make you stick out. Someone who suspects you're not "normal" may make an Alertness roll, difficulty 7, to determine what you are. Vanille has elf ears and a constant chill around her.
  • Isolated Upbringing (1): You were raised in your supernatural society, or were somehow otherwise sequestered away from "normal" life, so you have trouble dealing with this Outside-World thing. Dealing with any community outside the one in which you were raised raises a -1 Penalty on Social rolls, when RP'ing accomodates it. She was raised in a city that's not even on the maps in her OWN world because it's so isolated.
