Appearance

Standing at about 6'1", in Ye olde clothing that mark him as a mage, complete with deep red cloak. His garb is black with gold trim, and he has a bit of a 'superior' Air to him. eyes narrowed as he peers through his glasses with a look that says he is always watching always judging. He has burgundy eyes and short, copper colored hair. Strangely he doesn't seem to be armed at all. Probably has a similar facial structure of his father Jade Curtiss. Can't be more then maybe 17 18 years old.

Personality

Determined, Snarky, Can be very blunt and insulting at times even when he doesn't mean it.

Background

Born in Atlas city and mentored from a young age, A majority of Sols time was spent studying in the Magic Guild under his Aunt Lina. It was there his thirst for knowledge would be acquired, as well as his want for adventure. Hearing the stories told by all his parental figures spurred him onto his live goals, to become one of the greatest sorcerers out there. Due to his constant but diligent studies, He is lacking in social graces at times, Saying things that are hurtful and mean spirited .. and half the time it is hard to tell if he actually meant what he said. He earned the name Ruby Eyed Demon from the fact that during some sparring matches with fellow students, He tended to be highly aggressive and ruthless in combat, trying to force them to submit. Sol is also gifted with the ability of Fonic Sight. He has always had this, even at an early age, But it was in just an advanced stage that his eyes developed oddly. This caused him to become color blind, it wasn't until recently that he acquired special glasses that dull his otherworldly sight allowing to view the world in color. although muted. He cannot tell the finer differences between colors All reds look red all greens look just green and so on. On graduating from the mage's guild at the age of 15 he was given the Title of Sol The Red, As students of Altas city in general tend to get titles after they have become full-fledged mages. His prowess with magic even at an early age is what caught the eye of Paradigm. Sol would of course join, wishing to experience new worlds and seek out more and obscure magics for his own wishes..

Slayers verse Spells

  • Astral Vine:A spell which enchants a sword, axe, or other weapon with magic. A weapon enchanted in this way makes it possible to deal damage to Mazoku and becomes as powerful as the Sword of Light. It can even be used to deflect energy and magical attacks! However, this enchantment is only temporary.
  • Aqua Create:Creates water.
    • "You who crosses between sky and earth, gently flowing water. AQUA CREATE!"
  • Bram Fang:A spell which creates an arrow of wind and cuts the target. However, the arrow is so weak that when it strikes a living being, all it will do is leave a light scar along the target's skin. Since this spell requires no particular motions, the spell can be used to cut the bonds when tied up or something.
  • Dolph Zork:Spell which calls on the power of Deep Sea Dolphin, one of Ruby-Eye Shabranigdu's five lords. The spell turns water into a single sharp blade which cuts through practically anything. However, this spell can only be cast where there is a lot of water.
  • Dark Mist: Spell which fills the area with a dense black fog. In the black fog, even magically created light is completely absorbed. Once created, the fog remains even after the spellcaster stops concentrating.
    • "You who crosses between sky and earth, gently flowing water, gather in my hand and give me power DARK MIST!"
  • Freeze Bullet:Similar to Freeze Arrow, though the effect is spherical in form, rather than arrow-shaped. Tends to have a much larger effect.
  • Grey Buster:Lowers the temperature in a certain area, freezing living things within that area. Since the moisture in the air freezes and floats in the air, causing the diamond dust effect, this spell is extremely beautiful. Mages cast a variation of this spell within their cloaks, using this as an air conditioner during the summer.
    • "You who crosses between sky and earth, gently flowing water, gather in my hand and give me power. GREY BUSTER"
  • Levitation:By manipulating wind, the caster gains the ability to levitate. After casting the spell, it is possible to rise or fall simply by willing it. This spell is very easy to control. It is possible to cast easy spells while casting this spell.
    • "Holy wind, wind which flows gently across the land. LEVITATION!"
  • Lighting:The spell creates a ball of light which is about as bright as a street lamp. Normally the duration of this spell is 2~3 hours, but by shortening the duration the spell can be made brighter. A blinding flash of light, for example, can be made by decreasing the duration to a split-second.
  • "Light which burns beyond crimson flame, let thy power gather in my hand! LIGHTING!"
  • Lock:This spell magically locks things such as doors and widows. Even doors without locks are shut tightly as though the door was nailed shut. This spell doesn't increase the strength of the actual door, so entry is possible by simply breaking down the door.
  • Ray Wing:The caster gains the ability to fly by creating a shield of wind around him/herself. The caster can carry other people, but since the speed, diameter, and the maximum weight that can be carried all depend on the caster's skill, more weight means less speed. Unlike Levitation, the spell is harder to control, and requires a lot of concentration, so other spells can not be used at the same time. The caster can continue flying as long as he/she concentrates, and can end the spell by simply breaking concentration. The shield of wind also serves as a defensive shield. The shield can also protect the caster from all but the more powerful spells.
    • "Holy wind, wind which flows gently across the land, let all things be filled with your pure breath. RAY WING!"
  • Recovery:The spell heals the wounds of a target by maximizing the target's ability to regenerate. However, the spell's healing energy comes from the target so when this spell is used against a severely wounded target, the wound might heal, but the target might die of extreme exhaustion. In addition, when this spell is cast on a diseased target, the number of bacteria and virii increase as well, worsening the disease.
    • "Oh, blessed and humble hand of God, life and breath of Mother Earth, come before me and show your great compassion and deliver us: RECOVERY!"
  • Shadow Snap:Spell which holds a target by manipulating the Astral Plane through the knife pierced in the target's shadow. A target affected by this spell can do nothing except cast spells. However, in a place where there are no shadows or when for some reason the target's shadow temporarily disappears, the effects of the spell ends. So, by using spells such as Lighting and Fireball to temporarily erase your shadow, the effects of the spell can be negated.
  • Windy Shield:Surrounds the spell-caster with a barrier of wind which defends the caster from all attacks. The most popular defensive spell. It is possible for several spell-casters to combine their shields to increase the defense of the barrier and it can be used against all offensive spells. The only problem is that concentration is necessary when this spell is cast, so other spells can not be cast while maintaining the shield.

Artes

  • Violent Pulse: A Physical Arte! No magic involve, this is a technique used to rapidly fire clusters of arrows, up to 10 in a burst but it is physically tiring.
  • Thunder Blade: A Fonic Arte (Read as: Magic) A decently powerful spell calling forth a blade of pure lightning to strike an area marked with a spell circle, It isn't as fast as a lightning bolt but when it hits the ground the electricity surges outwards into a good sized field around it for a few moments.
    • "Oh darkened storm cloud, loose thy blade and run mine enemies through... Thunder Blade!"
  • Flare Tornado:A Fonic Arte. Another decently powerful Spell. This one summons a miniature twister of fire! It would probably be dangerous to closely packed enemies but more then likely to only hit one or two if next to each other.
    • "Oh flames of hell, bring unto them the wrath of the lord of fire... Flare Tornado!"
  • Gravity Well:A Fonic Arte. Exactly what it sounds like! Allows him to call forth a large and powerful gravity well by manipulating the fonic signals near by.
    • "Suffer within this oppressive force... Gravity Well!"
  • Indignation:A Mystic Arte (Read:Finisher) This spell takes a moment to charge but it is rather powerful. Opening up several spell circles around the target, This spell forces Fonons into the air Gathering storm clouds and raining down powerful massive Bolts of Lightning
    • 'I, who stand in the full light of the heavens, command thee, who opens the gates of hell. Come forth, divine lightning! This ends now! Indignation!!'

Powers & Merits

  • Clear Sighted (3): You are not fooled by illusions, and you get an Alertness roll to see through illusions, Difficulty 7, any time you face one.
  • Concentration (1): You are very good at focusing, and suffer no penalty for distractions, stress or having to repeat yourself often.
  • Iron Will (5): You cannot be mind-controlled easily, and getting you to surrender is borderline impossible. When magical (or other) mind-control is attempted on you, both roll and you get a +3 bonus to your roll. It's possible to do it, but you'll fight it with every fiber of your being, and will not stay in thrall very long.
  • Time Sense (1): You have an inate sense of time, and can with a good deal of accuracy tell what time it is without a watch. In performing feats where timing may be essential (such as certain combat or athletic maneuvers), difficulties may be lowered or dropped.
  • Fonic Seer: Able to see the Eb and flow of Fonic Resonance, allowing him to see and sense spells before they are cast, see energy gathering and so on. The ability to see Fonons also allows him to attune people to his, letting him attack with out worry of harming allies, However to do so he needs to focus to attune them. It is much like an advanced form of Magic Sense that is always on. the down fall to this is that he is naturally color blind. Only able to see the colors of Fonic Resonance.
  • Tune Resonance: Sol has the ability, like his father Jade, to Tune people to his Fonic Resonance, Protecting them from his own spells. This works as a double edged sword though. This does not protect him from others spells nor does it allow him to cast buffs or healing on others while that have this. This lasts about a day before the body re tunes itself to it's native Resonance. It is also not instant and requires him to physically touch you.. which might make people a little weirder out by it.
  • Shared Resonance: A special ability of Sol's This allows others to tap into rather large mana reserves Sol naturally has! However this ability requires Sol to concentrate Thus leaving him open to attack and unable to defend with out breaking the connection.

Unique Items

Fonic Lens: Special glasses made just for him, these allow him to see the world in muted color, while not a brilliant as real sight. it still allows him some comfort. Perhaps one day he will be able to make lenses that allow him to see in perfect color .. but till then these will do. There is a Draw back to these, He can no longer see Fonic Resonance, Still able to sense it cause all it does is cover his eyes. but with out his sight he cannot pinpoint sources but he can still tell when something is about to happen.
Fonic Battle Bow: Sol has the ability to summon a Bladed Bow to him, Unless cut off for Fonons entirely he can always summon this weapon.While not only being a viable melee weapon, It is also an important part of his spell casting as he fires most of his 'missile' spells from this.

  • Fonic Arrow: While about as power as a normal arrow what makes this ability unique is the face that Sol can fire these as fast as he can 'draw' the bow. These are just Fonons given physical form .. so summoned arrows effectively.
  • Bram Gush: The spell creates an arrow of wind, which is shot at a target and bursts upon contact (or at the caster's choosing), shredding the target to pieces. An extremely lethal spell which has the power to blow a hole through a brick wall.
    • "Wind which blows across eternity, gather in my hands and become my strength! BRAM GUSH!"
  • Dolph Strash: Like Dolph Zork, this spell calls on the power of Deep-Sea Dolphin. A spear-like shock wave moves at super sonic speed, destroying the target. Unlike Dolph Zork, this spell can even be used where there is no water.
  • Dust Chip:Spell which shoots out numerous small arrows of ice about the size of the tip of a fingernail. The actual damage dealt is minimal, but the arrows hurt a lot. A good spell to use when the goal is to weaken the opponent's will to fight.
    • "You who crosses between sky and earth, DUST CHIP!"
  • Flare Arrow:A spell which makes several fire arrows appear around the caster, and fly directly towards a target. The spell can be used to attack, or to make something catch on fire. The number of arrows that can be created depends on the caster's skill. Through careful arrangement, it is possible to make the arrows appear in places other than in front of the caster. This is the most basic offensive spell, but since the casting time is short, it is useful in combat.
    • "Source of all power, crimson fire burning bright. FLARE ARROW!"
  • Flare Bit:A spell which creates several dozen small balls of light which burst upon contact. Each ball deals about the same damage as a slightly strong punch, making this a useful spell when wanting to capture, rather than kill, a target. The spell can also be used to frighten enemies or to use the smoke to reduce the visibility of the target.
    • "Source of all power! FLARE BIT!"
  • Flare Lance:Several Flare Arrows are fused together to form a spear which is then shot at a target. The spell can be used for destruction or to light fires, but by controlling the strength of the spell, it is possible to turn a large rock into a heater or a medium sized rock into a frying pan.
    • "Source of all power, crimson fire burning bright. Gather into my hands and become and inferno! FLARE LANCE!"
  • Freeze Arrow: The spell makes several ice arrows appear near the caster and then fly towards the target; the ice counterpart of Flare Arrow. The arrows can also be used to restrict an opponent's movement by freezing the target's feet to the ground. Though this spell is similar to Flare Arrow, it does not cause things to catch on fire, so in areas where there are many combustible such as towns, this spell comes in handy.
    • "You who crosses between sky and earth, gently flowing water. FREEZE ARROW"
  • Icicle Lance:Spear of ice which is thrown at target. Created by fusing together arrows created by Freeze Arrow. Unlike Flare Lance, this spell can be used in towns because it doesn't cause objects to catch on fire.
    • "You who crosses between sky and earth, gently flowing water, gather in my hand and give me power ICICLE LANCE."

Items Of Note

  • 1 Luxury Perfume. You can add that to your character sheets. ...basically if you put it on you smell amazing. temporary +1 to Suberfudge for a mission!

Weaknesses & Flaws

(The Extra Flaws are to make up for his large ability list)
Compulsive Speech (aka Big Mouth) (2): He is the son of 2 Snarky and some times venomous individuals .. He is gonna have this ^^;
Driving Goal (3): Wishes to become stronger as a spell caster, Learn more spells and expand his power.. may let that influence his decisions.
Mistaken Identity (1): Because of the amount of magic he holds, his power is often mistaken for the presence of a Mazoku.
Otherworldly Taint (2): Due to the amount of magic power he has, anyone with Fonic or Magical senses can instantly spot him. He is lit up like a Christmas tree basically. Practically a well of mana.
Color Blind (1): He is in fact Color Blind, However he does gain some advantages (Please Refer to Fonic Seer)
Slow Healing (3): Due to his enlarged Astral Body, healing spells don't take hold on him like they should, hampering there effects.

Weak To Spiritual, Astral, and Holy Attacks: He cause of his powerful link to magic, His body has an enlarged Astral Form, Spiritual spells that would normally knock out a human, like Elmekia Lance, will actually cause him harm.
Weakness: Is a human, As powerful as he is .. he can still be shot to death, be cleaved in half ..stabbed blown up if caught off guard.
