Appearance

Normal Appearance

Shiori has short blonde hair that she ties up into short twin pigtails on either side of her head. She seems to be asian with an obvious caucasian mix, due to her paler than normal skin and blonde hair and blue yes. She dresses like a normal everyday girl would; skirts, shorts, pants and various types of cute t-shirts or sweaters.

Gatchaman Appearance

Her powered up form looks like power armor, short and simple. It looks like a fully mechanical body suit with glowing neon light blue trimming and glowing pink panels along her body. Her 'blonde hair' seems to persist with the twin pigtails, but it seems to be shiny, as if also made of metal. Her head seems to, however, be covered completely by a metallic helmet as well, with glowing neon light blue lights for her eyes. Her voice also becomes mechanical in this fashion.

Personality

Shiori is a sweet and kind girl. She tries to make friends with everyone and maintain those friendships. She does not like getting in confrontational situations with others, as she tends to panic if an argument starts up.

She can be rather opinionated at times and say something that others don't agree with, simply due to not knowing better. She is a bit too 'innocent' to the ways of the world.

Background

Shiori lived in what she would call an almost perfect family. Her parents seemed to love her, but they did not treat her sister well, and her sister blames Shiori for this mistreatment. She is a bit of a whiz when it comes to sciences and math, but her passion seems to be music, much like everyone in her family thrives off of music.

One day, Shiori fell through time and space. How this happened, she is unable to answer to this day. Where she arrived was modern day Tokyo, or for her, the past! She fell into 20XX, and was lost for a short while. While trying to find out how this happened, a mysterious figure known as J.J. appeared and pulled her 'soul' out of her body, saying she was destined for greater things.

With her soul now contained in a 'Note', she was able to transform into the a superhero people call Gatchaman. Now a Gatchaman, she began fighting evil monsters or villains of various types, though relunctant to kill them unless they are truely evil beasts.

Special Abilities

  • Hand to Hand Combat: Being athletic enough to play in sports, she has also taken up offense and defense classes. Officially a sort of a mixed martial arts style, meant to defend herself or disable her opponent. This style includes some wrestling moves to bring her opponent to the ground.
  • Known Languages: English and Japanese.

Powers & Merits

  • Ability Aptitude (1): +1 to Performance
  • Time Sense (1): Bonus to time specific situations.
  • Daredevil (3): +2 to roll when risking your life.
  • Danger Sense (3): "Oh no! My Spider Senses are tingling!" A successful Alertness roll, difficulty depending on the situation, will give you a timely sense of foreboding before something bad happens...
  • Light Sleeper (1): You can function on very little sleep, and so are less likely to suffer penalties for losing sleep. You are also more likely to awaken quickly, and so may not get caught blindsided about something that may wake you up.
  • Pitiable (1): You have an aura of child-like-ness/innocence about you, and many have the urge to pity and protect you (unless they're of a Nature that doesn't allow them that sort of thing). This can be helpful, but it may also be annoying.

Tarot Blessing

The Angry Princess tarot card.
If the Tarot card's user is in dire need and under specific circumstances, The tarot card Hero will grant assistance to them with their fight. When the tarot card Hero appears, they are a shadowed out figure that hovers behind or beside their user.. the Hero can only be visible when casting or attacking, otherwise only magic users or spiritualists will be able to see them.
  • The Angry Princess - Shiori pulled the fortune of The Angry Princess champion, Kaine. Kaine is a fierce, angry warrior who fights with dual barbed blades. Currently Kaine only offers one attack for Shiori:
    • Sword Attack - Kaine appears with her two large, barbed blades and double slash at the enemy in front of her. It's a brutal attack that both cleaves and tears into the enemy and strikes with much force, able to affect even exceptionally large opponents.
    • Love Combo - Kaine calls her closest ally (and lover) Nier, having him join in with her attacks, adding a level of strength and skill to Kaine's brutal attacks and working in tandem with her, able to defeat multiple opponents as a team.

Unique Items

Gatchaman Note
  • Gatchaman Note: The Gatchaman note is what allows shiori to transform into Gatchaman. This is the power of her very soul made manifest to bring out her hidden abilities. Without her note, she would be a normal human girl.

Gatchaman Mode

This armor gives her a series of bonuses while active. These are passive and/or able to be used without thought.

  • Enhanced Strength: She has strength above that of an average human as Gatchaman. This does not mean she is as strong as Hulk or Bane, but she is certainly stronger than you would give her credit for with her petite body size. She can possibly lift things that would be too heavy for a normal human if she puts time into it, but she is not going to lift AND throw a car. Just lift.
  • Enhanced Speed: The power armor gives her the ability to move twice as fast as a human normally would, whether this is throwing a punch or running a marathon.
  • Enhanced Agility: The suit gives her greater agility than she would have normally. This does not mean to increase her reaction time on something, as that is mental, but this gives her greater balance.
  • Flight: This is half a passive spell effect and mechanical flight. Wings grow out of her back, and ports in her gloves and boots (as well as smaller vents on her arms and legs) let out a subtle rainbow-esque glow, propelling her through the air. This can also be used to merely hover. In this form, she is able to fly at around 200 miles per hour, unless she is carrying someone. If she is carrying someone with her, she slows down to a mere 45 miles per hour, as she has to manage holding onto them, or them holding onto her as well as having the weight increase. Technically, she could also channel some of the energy through a vent if she needs to add some extra oomph to something like a punch or a kick. This can also help her if she's trying to hold something closed, such as a door with a bunch of monsters on the other side.
  • Sensitive Senses: She has boosted senses, able to see in the dark (or other spectrums of light such as infrared, etc etc) and hear more clearly while in Gatchaman mode. This does not give her the ability to scan things or see gasses in the air unless the naked eye can see them, or if the gas has enough heat to give off its own glow.

Gatchaman Abilities

  • Prismatic Power: Her Gatchaman works on the concept of prisms of varying sizes and shapes. This makes her main form of attack to be crystal like weapons or rainbows themselves. She can summon an unlimited amount of prisms and form them together into various weapons and use the reflective power of rainbow to form shapes or deal damage in attacks. She is unable to form them together to make something that uses mechanical gears or complex machinery bits.
    • Prism Tonfa: She forms prisms together into the shape of Tonfa to deal disabling blows to her opponent to take them down or deal enough physical damage to render them unconcious.
    • Prism Barrier: Her prisms fly in various formations around her or another target, connecting lines of rainbow together to form into a barrier against physical or ranged attacks. This barrier is strong enough to stop standard bullets or rocks and sound waves and the like, but something heavier in firepower will simply break through this after a mere few seconds. She has to concentrate on the barrier to hold it in place.
    • Prism Lasers: Her prisms can fly through the air and shoot tiny lasers, guided automatically by Shiori's senses. The lasers can be attributed to the average damage of what you'd expect of a short range laser pistol, not a major laser cannon capable of burning through buildings and walls. This is meant to harm, not kill people. She could use this to cut wires or burn keyholes and the like with concentrated fire.
  • Though, if she focuses it all into one laser burst into a pinpoint area, it could do a significant amount of damage to something or someone. (This goes against her usual moral code, however. She does not want to kill anyone.) She has to focus to control the lasers, so she is unable to do complicated moves and control them at the same time. She could do something such as dodge, however.
  • Prism Impact: Her vents for flight mode kick into overtime, shooting out more air that flows out in a varying array of multiple colors, and she speeds in to punch or kick someone with devastating force. Can also be used to take down barriers, either magical or physical. She will either use her tonfa or her own fists and feet in this move.
  • Prism Impact Overdive: She maintains the impact mode, moving to deal a series of blows in rapid succession on a target, using the vents on her armor to boost the strength and speed of her hits in a quick flurry. Using this renders her exhausted afterwards, losing the strength and focus to maintain Gatchaman form. She will either use her tonfa or her own fists and feet in this move.

Gatchaman Spells

  • Amnesia Effect: This is a standard ability of the G.Note. This is chanted with the G.Note in hand, rendering the Gatchaman invisible to civilians, as well as other supernatural beings. This means they can fight the bad guy without scaring civilians nearby.
  • Amnesia Remind: This cancels the ability of Amnesia Effect.
  • Bird, Go!: This is the chant Shiori must call with her G.Note in hand to turn into Gatchaman.

Items Of Note

Weaknesses & Flaws

  • Gatchaman Note: Without her note, she is unable to transform into Gatchaman. If her note is damaged or destroyed, she will become injured, ill, and she could potentially die, as the note is tied to her existance. (It's possible to survive if she receives medical attention immediately).
  • Noticeable: The Gatchaman outfit is too bright and shiny. Sneaking will be impossible unless her opponent is that unaware.

Flaws

  • Lifesaver (3): You revere all life and will not risk killing someone at all costs. Unfortunately, as a mercenary, this can sometimes be a problem.
  • Flashbacks (3): When under pressure and/or in the presence of something which reminds you of something unpleasant in your past, you flashback to that past event. Whilst in a flashback, everything to you is as it was then.
    • Shiori does not like seeing people who should get along arguing. This causes her to have a panic attack if there is an argument or tense situation among friends.
  • Soft-hearted (1): You can't stand to witness suffering, and if you do, all your rolls are at -2 penalty for the next hour.
