Background

Amano Shiki was born and raised from the union of Amano Ginji and Natsumi.. Amano Ginji being a normal Japanese guy and Natsumi!~ A kawaii genki japanese WOMAN who works part time at the Honky Tonk Coffee Shop in a small town in Japan, a few miles away from Kyoto. With both Ginji and Natsumi's positive attitudes, Shiki had a very positive and happy upbringing. She was cheerful and was raised to believe in trying her best and never giving up! And always looking for the best in people.

Anyways, Shiki believed all of that and had a fairly happy life, going to school and chilling with her best friend, Zan. Both Zan and her parents knew of Shiki's.. special abilities and instead of shunning her, they were extremely kind to her and treated her like she had a good gift (especially since Ginji previously had this power). Shiki's popular happy attitude had her friends from school all be kind to her and such as well.. though Shiki never really told anyone about her powers. She'd always make something up, like her electrical guitar was amped up by itself, so that's why it'd play so awesome, or she could power things up because she had lightning eels up her sleeves.. and of course the kids would always laugh and get along. For a while Shiki then joined the Getbackers but then feeling like she needed a chance to expand on her abilities and grow.. Shiki was given the opportunity to join PARADIGM. Shiki, not wanting to put a burden on her parents, agreed to go. After all, it could be fun right? And an adventure... plus. PARADIGM probably has some TOTALLY SWEET ROCK AND ROLL!!

Shiki's also very into exploring places and making new friends.. talking with homeless and petting puppies, making people laugh with corny jokes and all of that nice stuff. When alone she likes to mess around with her electrical guitar and play songs and stuff.

  • hand to hand fighting - Shiki learned some FIGHINg basic stuff from her father Ginji. she is PRETTY GOOD. She can't beat like a black belt or anything, but she knows enough to street brawl and get herself out of a situation against some typical goons.
  • Playing the guitar: She freaking -ROCKS- at it. If the opportunity presents itself, she will try to sway the enemy with her music. LISTEN TO MY SONG!!

  • Electrokinesis
    • Electromagnetic field - Shiki can make a big electromagnetic field by generating electricity around her, this takes a lot of power and it can attract metal TO her..or send it out somewhere else.
    • Electric blasts - she can throw ELECTRIC BLASTS and stuff like SOI can from Fushigi Yuugi. (just a blast with electricity)
    • Generate Electricity - she can power some stuff up like lamps and electrical appliances.
    • Sense Electrical stuff - if close enough, Shiki can sense electrical items like microphones, alarms, etc etc that would be normally hidden.

Merits

  • Graceful (2): You are extremely agile and delicate in your movements. +1 Bonus on all Athletics rolls.
  • Soothing Voice (2): You have an entrancing voice. When using your voice (speeches, singing, poetry), you get a +2 Bonus on Social rolls. When making casual conversation, +1 Bonus.
  • Danger Sense (3): "Oh no! My Spider Senses are tingling!" A successful Alertness roll, difficulty depending on the situation, will give you a timely sense of foreboding before something bad happens...
  • Good Old Boy/Girl (2): You're just a nice person, and people recognize and appreciate that. +1 Bonus on social rolls when interacting with your fellow folk.

Weaknesses & Flaws

Flaws can go here. Balance is key!

When around a LARGE powersource, Shiki's powers start to pick up and absorb it..and absorb it..and absorb it.. more and more and this can drive her insane ^^; and eventually kill her. First, she starts speaking very, very fast and then she starts overloading electronics around her, etc etc.

Shiki is also extremely gullible. She doesn't believe in people sincerely being evil and wanting to hurt others. She grew up in a loving and supportive family.. no ANGST.


Flaws

  • Curiosity (2): Your incredible curiosity often overrides your common sense. Resisting temptation requires a successful Wits roll, difficulty depending on the situation. A very bad flaw to take with certain evil sadistic GMs.
  • Disturbing Mannerism (2): You have a habit or character trait which is peculiar, gross, or annoying. You may not even be aware of it-but everyone else is. Penalties of social rolls are increased at the GM's discretion. (Shiki likes to 'power' up things that normally don't have power with her abilities. So she sometimes likes to put power chords into her mouth.)
  • Otherworldly Taint (2): You have a physical peculiarity (odd hair/eye color, glowing eyes, etc.) and/or just an odd aura about you which may make you stick out. Someone who suspects you're not "normal" may make an Alertness roll, difficulty 7, to determine what you are. (Shiki's got a lot of static around her.)
  • Echoes (2): Your supernatural nature affects the world around you; for example, if you are a "witch", milk sours in your presence or you cannot walk on hallowed ground. Severity of the flaw depends on how severe–and noticeable–the echoes are. This should be taken only by supernatural or cursed characters. There is little to no reason for Joe Dudeguy to make milk sour, but Billy Half-Demon might. (Shiki can sometimes overload eletronic devices or if she's unfortunately AROUND a huge powersource.. she starts absorbing the power. ...and she's noticeable on devices that measure eletricity.)
  • Group Enmity (2): Some group amongst your kind, i.e. another clan/tribe/tradition/whatever, doesn't like you and may prevent you going places you might otherwise go or may otherwise give you hell in a variety of ways. (Kiryudo don't like her since her dad sort of killed their god.)
