Appearance

A tall young man with bleached-blonde swept-back crewcut, grey eyes,with a scar above his left eye, many piercings, metal jewelry, and wears a black sweater with a skull-and-crossbones design on it under his school uniform, and wears shaded glasses in battle. On days off, however, he is seen wearing a black leather jacket instead and in the Summer, he discards his jacket and wears a black tank top with flaming skull design.

Personality

A student of Yasogami High School, Kanji often skips classes and apparently gets into many fights in the streets. (However, it is implied that his reasons for doing so are borne out of trying to make other's happy, not out of simple delinquency; the first example of his violence, beating up a biker gang, is explained by his mother as an attempt to make her happy, as the bikes were too loud for her to get any sleep). His family runs a textile shop with the Amagis being their acquainted costumers, and Kanji is also very skilled with tailoring for that very reason. He is portrayed as being insecure about his sexuality after meeting Naoto (who disguises as a boy) and developing a major crush on her. He tends to go red whenever he is around Naoto.

Background

When Kanji's father died, his last words were "Be a real man." Because of these words Kanji grew up to be a very confused abrasive young man. Always conflicting with his personal tastes that weren't very 'manly' yet always tried his best to keep up the appearance of a tough customer by bleaching his hair, wearing piercings and tattoos while always getting into fights. However this changed once he met Narutaki Yu.

When Kanji met Yu his life not only became more interesting but he was able to learn a lot more about himself. He helped solve the crime of the Inaba murderer with his fellow detective club members, gained a persona after entering the tv world and even made some close friends. Once Yu left Inaba he continued his daily life but now with a better outlook...though still continues to be the tough customer he always has been but is more honest with who he is as a person.

Powers & Merits

Take-Mikazuchi - A very physical persona that has a resistance to electricity. Large in size it deals out heavy physical blows while summoning bolts of thunder. It also specializes in providing physical buffs for the party.
