SPECIAL ABILITIES, POWERS
Black Mage: Corneille is a very powerful magic user, having made several pacts with spirits and demons. This has given him several mostly offensive magical spells, and a few important defensive abilities. He specializes in Conjuration, Abjuration, Elemental and Arcane styles of magic, with several direct attack and area of effect magics. A few examples below.
Explosive Strike: Corneille chants a spell, then releases a single ball at his targets, which then first creates a vacuum where it pops (first contact), and then explodes, holding targets in place for a second as it blows up, causing rather intense damage.
Chain Lightning: Corneille chants and releases lightning at a single target, which then explodes and bursts out at all current targets.
Dark Barrier: Corneille invokes the power of a demon, covering himself and an area up to 10 feet in diameter with a dark barrier. Any demonic or dark-aligned power that touches the barrier gets added to his mana pool, and it acts as a protection from most forms of attacks.
Summon Elemental: Corneille can call forth an Elemental spirit, one of the main four (Fire, Air, Water, Earth). He needs something of them to summon then (A fire, some dirt, breath or water), but then they appear and are able to fight in their full glory. Only a single Elemental can be summoned, as otherwise they will immediately clash with each other.
Various Spells and Curses: Corneille can cast smaller but weaker spells, such as non-aligned magical attacks and various types of curses, usually involving a small demon familiar.
NOTABLE ITEMS
Black Rose Staff: A powerful magical staff which lets Corneille pre-cast up to five spells to unleash at will. It is Dark-aligned, and will reinforce his barrier spells. Any strike from the staff will also send a powerful shock of dark energy into whoever it hits.
WEAKNESSES
Squishy Wizard: Corneille is not physically powerful, and he needs time to cast his spells. He usually relies on Cecilia to cover for him while he does the heavy damage.
Cecilia: Corneille and Cecilia have a complicated relationship, to put it mildly. However, putting her in danger is likely to make him take less planned out steps to attempt to save her or avenge her.
