Appearance

Anamika is a somewhat short young woman with dark skin, red eyes, and white hair typical of the ishvalan people. Her hair is shoulder length with braids on either side of her head. She most often wears a cropped denim jacket over a white tanktop. The denim jacket is long sleeved, obscuring the extensive tattoos she has on both arms. She also wears cargo pants which hide the fact that her right leg is automail. She wears faded brown boots on her feet. Overall she has the slender but toned build of a martial artist. On missions, she wears a pair of sunglasses.

Personality

Anamika has turned her back on the religion of her father, interested instead in following the writings of her late uncle which combined the alchemy of the east and west. Her father fought against this desire, causing Anamika to lash out and rebel. The death of her mother to a murderer also fueled her youthful rage, as well as her thirst for knowledge. So she became a bit of a contradiction: A rebellious youth who was regardless attentive in her lessons, possessing a thirst for knowledge fueled by a desire to prevent anyone else around her from turning into another victim.

Background

Born the daughter of Scar, Anamika grew up surrounded by contradictions. Her people's religion denounced the use of alchemy, but the revitalization of their homeland of Ishval was being aided at least in part by Amestrian alchemists, the very people who were once the tip of the spear of genocide aimed at the ishvalans by the former Führer. These alchemists were permitted to help by the leading figures of ishval, her father Scar among them, a man who had once primarily been known as a serial killer of state alchemists. It was the son of one of these state alchemists who would eventually be responsible for the death of Anamika's mother and the loss of Anamika's right leg. The man had been trying to kill Scar, yet Scar was the only one who survived the attack unscathed. That proved to be fatal for the attacker.

Anamika was given a new leg by Winry Rockbell, an automail mechanic from Resembool and wife of the famous Fullmetal Alchemist. She told Anamika a lot that her own father had been silent on; some of which excited the young girl, some of which shocked her. She suspected that there was still more the adults weren't telling her, and this was what was most often on her mind as she watched the trains come through Ishval from the east and the west. After talking with her Aunt May one day, she went to find her late uncle's writings on alchemy and read them eagerly and repeatedly upon finding them. Although it took much convincing and arguing with her father, she was then finally allowed to enter the dual tutelage of her Aunt May and Uncle Al, becoming one of the first of a new generation of alchemists combining the styles of Amestris and Xing.

She has since worked to perfect this new style of fighting.

Special Abilities

(These are skills, things that can be learned or trained, like martial arts techniques, Jutsu or magic spells. Abilities that are outside the norm of regular humans, but only because they have not had access to them.)

Warrior Alchemist: Anamika is a student of both xingese martial arts and the fighting style of the ishvalan warrior monks, using a variety of agile and heavy hitting moves.

Ishvalan Alchemy: A combination of amestrian alchemy and xingese alkahestry first conceived by Scar's older brother. Still a rare practice among ishvalans due to their religion, Anamika has copied her uncle's idea that her father later put into practice. On her right arm is tattooed alchemical symbols that allow her to deconstruct the things she touches with that arm as long as she knows their alchemical makeup. She can't destroy the entire object unless it's small, but instead blows a chunk out of it. On her left arm is tattooed the alchemical symbols that allow for reconstruction, allowing her to reconstruct that which has been deconstructed in a similar or different form as long as the new form has a similar alchemical makeup. Though most often used to fight, she can also use her alchemy to heal wounds.

Ranged Alkahestry: Using principles learned from xingese alkahestry, Anamika can throw shuriken to a surface in an arrangement that corresponds to the five points of a star to project her alchemy to wherever the shurikens land.

Catlike Balance (2): Difficulties for balance-related Athletics rolls are at -1.

Concentration (1): You are very good at focusing, and suffer no penalty for distractions, stress or having to repeat yourself often.

Gall (2): You got moxy, kid. You get a +1 bonus to any Social roll requiring backbone.

Graceful (2): You are extremely agile and delicate in your movements. +1 Bonus on all Athletics rolls.

Unique Items

Automail Leg: Anamika's right leg is an artificial, automail leg. The kneecap hides a weaponized component that can fire shotgun shells out of it, revealed when she bends her knee.

Items Of Note

Anamika's Chains: Anamika has chains wrapped around both arms, serving two purposes. The first purpose is to provide some protection against her arms being harmed. The second purpose is to use them as weapons, often using her alchemy to transform the ends of her chains into different forms to become more damaging or useful.

Shuriken: Using principles learned from xingese alkahestry, Anamika can throw shurikens to a surface arranged at the five points of a star to project her alchemy to wherever the shurikens land. Of course, the surface must be one that shurikens can sink their tips into.

Hunter License: A Hunter License obtained from the Hunter's Exam.

Weaknesses & Flaws

If Anamika's tattoos are disrupted by a wound, she's rendered unable to use the aspect of alchemy that arm provides: either deconstruction or reconstruction, depending on the arm.

Flashbacks (3): When under pressure and/or in the presence of something which reminds you of something unpleasant in your past, you flashback to that past event. Whilst in a flashback, everything to you is as it was then. For Anamika, this is a flashback to when her mother was killed and she lost her leg.
