Appearance

Faustlin has short, spiked blond hair and bright blue eyes. He is lightly tanned, and his skin grafts are only noticeable behind his ears and down his spine. He isn't very tall, but is well built and athletic. He has an insufferable grin that rarely leaves his face, and a small scar under his right eye.

Personality

Brash and bold, loud and proud. Faustlin is a smooth operator, and will be the first to let you know it. Confident to a fault, Faustlin loves the ladies, perhaps a bit too much. He is friendly and helpful, but is more than willing to give someone a hard time, especially if they are excitable or have a short fuse. However, he may not be quite as dumb as he acts..

Background

Faustlin hails from the space station Imaginos in the far flung future. Born on the station, he and his family fled to Earth after the chaos of the First Interdimensional War. Raised under the tutelage of the Paramilitary Earth-Independence group Liberty, Faustlin learned many combat and survival skills from a young age.

Returning to Imaginos, Faustlin applied to the ISF and was able to join early due to some pulled strings, becoming a Lieutenant in the vaunted Honor Guard by the tender age of twenty. There he learned many counterespionage and interrogation techniques, small unit tactics, interplanetary law, AVATAR and vehicle piloting, and how to protect VIPs in a crisis.

Now two years later, after the disbanding of the unit he had been assigned to, the Irregulars, Faustlin was recruited by Celeste Laurent as an agent of Paradigm.

Special Abilities

  • CQC: Faustlin is well trained in CQC and uses fast, quick strikes, judo-style throws and jointlocks oto quickly subdue enemies.
  • Gun Kata: Gun Kata is a gun-fighting martial art discipline that is a significant to Cleric training in the Metatron Clergy. It is based upon the premise that, given the positions of the participants in a gun battle, the trajectories of fire are statistically predictable. By pure memorization of the positions, one can fire at the most likely location of an enemy without aiming at him in the traditional sense of pointing a gun at a specific target. By the same token, the trajectories of incoming fire are also statistically predictable, so by assuming the appropriate stance, one can keep one's body clear of the most likely path of enemy bullets.

Powers & Merits

Psychokinesis: can lift and maneuver objects of up to 30 lbs, with great difficulty and only with his nanites disabled.

Telepathy: With his nanites disabled, can sense the presence of other telepaths within 5 meters, and can communicate telepathically via touch

Faustlin has accepted the role of being the Genbu Shichi Seishi Urumiya. On his right leg appears the symbol of 危 (Wēi) meaning danger. When he draws on his deep emotional power he has the following abilities:
  • Healing - Faustlin possesses incredible healing powers at the cost of exchanging some of his own life force. He can use this ability frequently to heal minor injuries (If you're unsure about what's a minor injury ask the GM), but after healing life-threatening injuries, Faustlin requires an entire day to regenerate his life force.

Unique Items

  • ISF-X6 "Berzerker" Nanites: Designed to increase combat efficiency in short bursts by triggering the adrenal glands and temporarily recuding the impusle time of nerse ending firings and muscle contractions. Was discontinued at the prototype phase due to high likelihood of adverse reactions.
  • ISF-X9 "Hemophage" Nanites: Aid in the natural clotting action of blood and in the knitting of flesh. Useful for small puncture wounds, but useless for large wounds or internal injuries.
  • ISF-X14 "Suppressor" Nanites: Serve to suppress inheirant psychic abilities, provide protection against mind reading and mental attacks. Has a seeming 'side effect' of altering physical charicteristics such as skin tone, hair and eye color.
  • Bone Reinforcement: metal reinforcement in and around his bones to improve his durability and resistance to blunt impact.
  • Synthetic Muscle Enhancements: increasing his speed, strength and potential agility to above human levels
  • Wired Reflexes: synthetic neuromuscular enhancements designed to reduce the delays between reaction and action, increases overall agility and reaction time
  • ISF-31D ARES: A 12mm (.47 caliber) short-barreled weapon (ARES is an acronym for "Assault Rifle, Elliptical Solenoid"). The elliptical solenoid design employs discrete biaxial symmetry to help the onboard computer compensate for the natural motion of a human operator. An ARES uses a 50-round S-magazine, and has a firing rate adjustable from 60 to 600 rpm, as well as adjustable solenoid power; a compact powerpack is good for 500 shots at standard power. The D-variant has a more blunt profile and a top-mounted optial suite, the stock can rotate and fold over the barrel and GLA to conceal the nature of the weapon. The ARES-D can be fitted with a variety of underbarrel attachhments, including flashlights, grenade and smoke launchers, a three-round shotgun or bayonet. The D-variant an have its stock removed to make it a carbine, can extend its barrel to be used as a marksman weapon, or be fed through a belt or drum to be used as a support weapon.
  • ISF-48 GLA2: A 20mm high veloity airburst grenade launcher, the Grenade Launcher Attachment mkII is smaller than the 40mm original, but fires projectiles at higher volucity, achieving longer range and higher pre-detonation penetration. Has a 5-round magaine and can be fitted with High Explosive, Fragmentation, SABOT, or White Phosphorous rounds.


  • ISF-37S Aegis: Standard ISF sidearm. A 10mm (.39 caliber) high-power elliptical solenoid pistol, the Aegis has a 10-round magazine, and its powercell is good for 100 shots before recharging or replacement. An S-variant is available for officers and senior NCOs which is functionally identical to the standard ISF-37 but can be altered to accept custom grips, computerized targeting enhancements, etcetera.


  • Vibroblade: A two-foot long blade of a lightweight fibrous metal, contains a powersoure in the hilt that allows the blade to vibrate at high frequency, letting it cut through many materials. The hilt has been designed to attach to the underbarrel of an ARES-D.


  • ISF-33 LACCRA-S: Short for Light, All-Conditions, Concealable, Reactive Armor, LACCRA is a standard type of bodyarmor employed by ISF personnel in the form of several variants, including M-type flight suits, S-type stealth suits, and I-type infantry combat armor with additional armor plating over vital areas. The basic LACCRA suit is a tight bodysuit which can be easily concealed under normal full-body clothing, and which does an admirable job turning away most bullets and damping directed-energy attacks due to its reactive energy redistribution properties. LACCRA does not make soldiers invincible, however: an ARES on full power using armor-piercing rounds can definitely still get through it, and large scale blunt trauma and heat (e.g. from explosions) can overwhelm its ability to redistribute incoming energy. Has installed datapacks to enable the LACCRA to disguise itself as a Metro Police Uniform, standard military camolfagued body armor, constrution labourer's clothes or a Japanese School Uniform.


  • ISF-43X "Lock-On" Logistic Optical Command Kinesiology Operating Network: An Oculus variant resembling specialized sunglasses which can provide a sophisticated ECM and imaging suite for defeating most conventional and combat stealth. To meet the informational needs of a soldier in combat, the Oculus is eyewear designed to link to the soldier's armor, weapon, and datapad systems to provide realtime data. The Oculus has a night-vision mode for low-light situations, as well as thermal, UV, and other imaging. The 'interface' of the Oculus is customizable through the linked datapad, allowing the soldier to control exactly how much information they're getting overlaid into their field of vision.


  • Dietrich Weber's .454 Casull: A particularly powerful handgun, Dietrich's .454 has a custom grip, using a small rifle primer rather than a pistol primer. Originally used for hunting medium to large game and predator game, Dietrich has modified it for the art of warfare. It possesses laser targeting and has been altered with a fine grip to halt much of the considerable kickback. The barrel has an inscription that reads, 'Never give them the chance to doubt you.'.

Weaknesses & Flaws

Compulsion (1) She's got legs: a great pair of gams can make Faustlin weak at the knees

Hesitant (Overconfident 1): While he used to be brash and impulsive, Faustlin has lately become slightly hesitant, which produces the same result in sometimes flawed decision-making, if for a different reason.

Dark Secret (1): Not particularily keen on people finding out who his parents are...

Rival (2) Paradigm Agent Max Fortitude: A rival Paradigm Agent. Smooth, charming and refined, sees Faustlin as a boorish heel and can rarely resist an opportunity to snub or embarrass him. Often works as an adjutant to Celeste Laurent, much to Faustlin's jealous consternation.
