Appearance

She is a somewhat normal height woman with long brown hair, or black (depending on the picture you find of her, really), hair ribbons around the front strands, with the word XP stuck above. She wears thighigh white boots with blue trim, as well as a skirted outfit that's a mix of blue and white. She has matching sleeves on her arms that are disconnected from the rest of the outfit, giving off a view of her bare shoulders. Also, her eyes are blue.

Personality

She's a bit of a ditz, with a hyper personality and a lack of real common sense. She's not completely retarded, as she is a walking computer and is able to process quickly and figure out information on the fly. She likes to eat and sleep a lot, as well as talk to people whenever available. She's not much of a fighter, not having any real reason to attack someone. While a clutz, she will try to help to the best of her abilities.

Background

Windows XP-tan is a fan created virtual girl to represent the Operating System, Windows XP. This model in particular has been picked out for Windows XP, Professional Edition. The laptop that this specific copy of Windows XP is on seems to have nothing special seen about it, but after going through a few hands here and there and being exposed to magical energy, XP-tan has become a real person. She doesn't seem to have any extraordinary abilities or super powers, but she lives, as long as her laptop exists.

Skills

(These include all learned skills, as well as a relative rating from Abyssmal to Amazing. The character's level of mastery in something that can be taught or at least rated by other people follows the scale: Abyssmal, Novice, Good, Very Good, Incredible, Amazing)

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PUT A RANK FOR -EVERY- SKILL. Just fill out the stuff you think your character would have! Feel free to add other skills that you think your character should be noted for. (Ex: Speaking French)

Physical Skills:

  • Alertness (How alert you are.)
  • Athletics (Jumping, Climbing, Flexibility.. you know.)
  • Stealth (Sneaking! Breaking in, etc etc.)

Social Skills:

  • Subterfuge (Manipulation, Lying..)
  • Streetwise (How well you know the hood, man.)
  • Intimidation (though I guess if you can punch a car over this can be physical..)
  • Leadership (Stepping it up for a group.)
  • Expression
  • Ettiquette
  • Performance

Mental Skills:

  • Computers (no. I'm serious. If you don't know what one is, you will NOT just 'pick it up on the fly')
  • Investigation (as in proper, scientific investigation. Anyone can ask questions or notice out of place things, it takes a real Holmes or House to do this perfectly)
  • Medicine
  • Law
  • Occult
  • Politics
  • Science

Other Skills:

  • Driving (arguably physical, but..)
  • Survival (as in wilderness)
  • Empathy (some people have more than others)
  • Animal Ken (some people get along better with dogs than people, I guess)

Powers & Merits

Loyalty (1): You are devoted to a person, group, or cause, and easily resist attempts to persuade you away from the object of your loyalty. Any attempts to make you betray this person/cause/whatever is done with an opposed roll where you get a +2 bonus. Again, like the code of honor, you must always be loyal to this person or risk losing this benefit. (She is highly devoted to the person who owns the laptop.)

Eidetic Memory (2): Having a "photographic" memory, you can accurately recall any sight or sound with a successful Alertness roll. The higher you roll the more you remember. You also rarely forget -anything-. (She's an artificial intelligence connected to a laptop. Her thoughts are stored in databanks.)

Lightning Calculator (1): You have a natural affinity for numbers. +1 bonus when relevant. (She -is- a living calculator)

Time Sense (1): You have an inate sense of time, and can with a good deal of accuracy tell what time it is without a watch. In performing feats where timing may be essential (such as certain combat or athletic maneuvers), difficulties may be lowered or dropped. (Laptop has a clock! She has a clock in her head.)

Knowledge Database: As long as her laptop is connected to the internet, she has the ability to search anything on the spot (while not having to be at the computer itself). She still has a chance to fail in this search as there are multiple results, so what she finds out via a search can vary on good or bad.

Items Of Note

Laptop: A pretty spiffy but beat up laptop is her source of origin. She can not exist without it.

Weaknesses & Flaws

Addiction (1-3): You are addicted to some substance, such as caffeine, nicotine, etc. You will start to crave the substance if you don't get it often enough, and have to spend time and money to counter it. The larger the flaw, the more dependent you are on the substance, and the worse things will happen if you don't get what you need. After jonesing for long enough all your rolls are at -1 Penalty. -2 if a three point flaw. A one point flaw will never incur penalties, but you should start RP'ing out how badly you need a drink or smoke and be easily distracted by that very idea. [3] (She has a thing for always being hungry in some way or form. She could probably constantly eat and never stop if allowed. If she doesn't eat or drink at least a few times a day, she gets very sleepy and ends up falling asleep on the spot, no matter what she may be doing. She will remain unconcious for a period of time before waking up, hungry.)

Airhead (1): Maybe you have trouble paying attention, maybe you're just clueless, maybe you just look like a flake; no matter what, people don't take you seriously. You generally have a -1 Social rolls penalty when dealing with serious/dire situations. (She is a bit socially inept as computer logic doesn't apply to the real world. She has to learn as she goes along.)

Confused (2): You have a lot of trouble focusing and/or making sense of the world around you. All rolls when in a chaotic situation are at -2.

Curiosity (2): Your incredible curiosity often overrides your common sense. Resisting temptation requires a successful Wits roll, difficulty depending on the situation. A very bad flaw to take with certain evil sadistic GMs.

Graceless (2): You always look awkward, no matter what you're doing. -2 Penalty when trying to make an impression. (She's not good at applying herself to things since computers don't have to normally make physical movements.)
