It's possible to do it, but you'll fight it with every fiber of your being, and will not stay in thrall very long.

Appearance

Jean is of average height with a particularly well developed build - that of a man that has been training most of his life for what he does. He typically wears leathers mixed in red, brown, and black, with beige hair that seems to vary between shoulder-length and short-cut based on his moods. His skin is fairly well tanned and unblemished.

Personality

Jean has the slightest touch of paranoia over himself at all times, the result of a geas he recently overpowered. He is no longer always suspicious, but is very hard to surprise because of this, especially in matters of betrayal. He simply no longer cares. Other than that, he tends to be easygoing and calm - he rarely ever stresses out.

Background

A descendant of the now-scattered House LeCarde, Jean LeCarde has spent most of his life training and honing his mind and body to become what his family felt the world needed - a hunter of that which dwells in the dark, a safeguard of humanity. When he set out on his own to do this very thing, he realized that more often than not, the supernatural forces he so often was raised to defeat and cull were simply fighting for their own territory. Certainly at times - many times - they *were* evil and needed to be destroyed, but was humanity not guilty of the same?

He could not deny what he was, after all - a descendant of Alucard himself. From that point, he decided that he would be not on the side of mortals, nor the side of the supernatural - he would take the side he felt all noble men should take.

The right one.

Special Abilities

(These are skills, things that can be learned or trained, like martial arts techniques, Jutsu or magic spells. Abilities that are outside the norm of regular humans, but only because they have not had access to them.)
Clad in only leathers and his own self-confidence, Jean is incredibly agile and strong for a human, able to not only dodge attacks with ease, but also to make use of his terrain - he climbs objects (and enemies) as easily as any parkour runner or assassin. A demon hunter that is still is only still because he is dead.

The LeCarde family has the ability to use magic in their blood - Jean can learn most types of spells, but his practice has always been somewhat limited.

[Icy Wind] - A spell passed down through his family line, Jean can extend a hand to blow a varying torrent of frigid wind at an enemy or an area, directing it in a narrow or wide cone, in a mist or as sheer frost. Used in close, it can actually freeze enemies.

[Consecrate]/[Dispel] - Jean can bless an enemy or area with holy power - this also will cleanse anything in the area of blight, disease, or magical effects. A slight adjustment to the spell can cause it to act as a powerful dispel/disjunction on any magical target.

Powers & Merits

(Unique, or hereditary, in-born powers, whether due to genetics or magic, things that can't be taught to others or simply gifted to this person from an outside force. Powers based on weapons should go in the Items. Merits can also go here.)
Jean is part vampire several strains removed, which only confers the very barest of extra stamina - moreso than a normal human, to be sure, but not to an extreme superhuman level. Because of the bare boon this is granted and how diluted the blood is, Jean suffers none of the weaknesses of a vampire. Other supernaturals will detect a slight otherworldly aura about him, as if naturally split between their kind and mundane humanity.

Iron Will (5): You cannot be mind-controlled easily, and getting you to surrender is borderline impossible. When magical (or other) mind-control is attempted on you, both roll and you get a +3 bonus to your roll. It's possible to do it, but you'll fight it with every fiber of your being, and will not stay in thrall very long.

Unique Items

(Madougu, magical weapons or other unique or special weapons, as well as all techniques related to them, as without it technically the character is NOT able to use these abilities.)
Jean has a veritable armory on himself at all times - one of his acquisitions in his profession is a pair of Gauntlets of the Abyss. With these powerful artifact-quality gloves, Jean can call any of seven weapons to his palms immediately, each linked by the runic markings bound on the back of each hand. Any of these weapons can be switched out at will for another weapon should Jean acquire any - the rune will have to be reinscribed, however, and will take some time. It also must be of an acceptable size to be summoned. The following are bound to the Gauntlets of the Abyss:

Holy Water - What the Doctor ordered, if the doctor were a priest. Can cover a wide area, or be used as a makeshift grenade. Held in a container made to shatter on contact.

Silver Daggers - An endless supply of silver-plated platinum daggers can be pulled from the Abyss. Jean typically uses these as throwing implements.

Consecrated Axes - Even though they’re considerably heavy, Jean can wield two of these axes easily and deftly. Blessed by holy water, they are powerful holy weapons indeed. He typically uses these as throwing implements against larger targets.

Alucard Spear - The Alucard Spear has been handed down through several generations of the LeCarde family. Jean has been trained in its use all of his life. It is a powerful magical weapon, made by the son of Dracula himself, Alucard.

C4 - One of the weapons in Jean’s arsenal his predecessors did *not* train him in the use of, C4 allows the vampire hunter to pack a considerable punch whenever he needs - plant, then detonate for a formidable blast.

Dual Crossbows - Jean’s proficiency in wielding crossbows is considerable; he can reload them quickly enough, while firing at a consistent rate even while jumping and moving. He eschews guns for some reason, preferring to stick to these weapons when possible. One of these crossbows can be modified for extreme long distance sniping and a much more powerful punch, if needed.

Longsword - A simple blade, Jean keeps this sharp and uses it as an offhand in melee. He’s fairly good with it, but it’s far from his main weapon.

Empty Slot - One slot is empty.

Weaknesses & Flaws

Flaws can go here. Balance is key!

Otherworldly Taint (2): You have a physical peculiarity (odd hair/eye color, glowing eyes, etc.) and/or just an odd aura about you which may make you stick out. Someone who suspects you're not "normal" may make an Alertness roll, difficulty 7, to determine what you are. (Jean's aura within his blood can pretty easily peg him as not only a LeCarde - an prominent vampire hunter family - but a descendant of Alucard, and all of the touch of vampiric pedigree within. The dual nature can work in many ways.)

Intolerance (1): You have difficulty tolerating a specific thing or type of person, and are likely to snap at them and be dismissive. (Jean hates people that just charge ahead without consulting others.)
