The Space Pirates are a beligerent collective of species driven to scientific, military and monitary conquests at any cost and by any means by a zeal well beyond madness. In their home dimension their actions necessitated the creation of a galaxy-wide policing force and have been a major threat to more peaceful societies for centuries.
History
The Pirates, while now a large military force, were originally pirates in the more traditional sense, makign daring raids on vessels before disappearing as quickly as they arrive. They would also lay claim to entire planets, inhabited or otherwise, and in their arrogance, declare themselves the rightful rulers of the planets, taking on the planet's name as their own as a people, such as the supposed "Zebesians." With their growing resources, they have devoted exponentially more time to the sciences, attacking issues and experiments without regard for cost or ethics.
Current Goals
It has recently been discovered that the Space Pirates plan to encroach on other dimensions in which they will find what they qualify as new an interesting technology. Once in these dimensions, they will steal, borrow, buy or whatever they need to do to get what they need for operations in their home universe. While they are not committing large forces to these other universe, the forces they are sending are quite formiddable, rumored to be led by a clone of one of their finest warriors, Ridley.
