Appearance

Slender with a build he never had to work for, Letty Carmichael seems like an average male, green hair slightly curly and long, coming out in tufts from underneath his black and white baseball cap, always present. He usually wears slacks and an open dress shirt, a bit wrinkled, but serviceable.

Personality

Easygoing and laidback, Letty doesn't SEEM artificial - a slight Brooklyn accent's easy to hear in his voice, and he's typically usually sedate, always ready to help where needed, but usually in a horizontal position if nothing comes up. Usually something always comes up; he hates that.

Background

Approximately one year ago, Eletian Carmichael awoke in a dumpster with his orange hat, five bucks, and no memory whatsoever. Since then, he's simply wandered, finding out from a kindly doctor that he was no simple human, but an android - and then from a kindly engineer that he wasn't even a simple android.

It didn't seem to get to him very much, however, and he wandered even more without knowing what he was looking for, precisely, until he recieved an offer that he could not begin to think of refusing.

It was after joining PARADIGM that he began to fit in, shedding various doubts about his own humanity and learning that once, he was a human - and that he was turned into what he was, and not simply a robot or construct. In fact, he was formed to destroy metahumans, magic users, and mutants - all of them.

Faced with this knowledge, and knowing that he needed to grow stronger to protect the ones he loved, the ones that accepted him no matter who he was, Eletian Carmichael ventured for six months to the place of his 'birth' and was born again - into what his creator has designated the Ultimate Lifeform, able to, potentially, eliminate any threat to humanity.

Really, he just wants another Coke.

TPU Recorded Spells:

  • [Blinding Light] With a snap of his fingers, Letty fills the immediate area with a crackle of displaced energy that seemingly has no source - the light floods the vision of anyone present. This serves to blind any non-Holy or divine creatures, as well as dealing moderate Holy damage to any specifically weak to Holy magic. The snap is required.
  • [Chain Lightning] Letty raises his hand to fire an arc of electricity at an opponent. It will chain to any nearby enemies, hitting up to 3 times.
  • [Cure] A minor cure spell, Letty only needs to make a line of sight check to pull this off from range. Not much, but better than nothing.
  • [Cura] A much more potent and cost efficient spell, Cura allows Letty to heal one or more targets a considerable amount. Learned from Cordelia in mission 176.
  • [Esuna] Esuna attempts to remove a status affliction from one or more targets. Absorbed from Drake, of Mist.
  • [Bio] Bio hits an enemy or MULTIPLE enemies with a powerful Poison-element attack, though it causes rot and entropy on the inside of even non-human beings and structures. Absorbed from a giant snake in Mission 50.
  • [Bio 2] (or Biora) Bio 2 is simply a much more powerful version of Bio. It maintains the multi-target effect, and is roughly double as dangerous. Absorbed from Cu Chulainn in Mission 139.
  • [Disenchant] Disenchant attempts to destroy a magical enchantment outright with a simple thrust of mana. Absorbed on Letty's ascension to Ultimate Lifeform.
  • [Reflect] Reflect causes a shimmer of blue light to surround Letty, reflecting spells away from him. Absorbed from Jenova in Mission 50.
  • [Thundaga] A rather powerful burst of lightning strikes a single target. Much more powerful than Chain Lightning. Absorbed from Asura Zero in Mission 140.
  • [Darkblast] A black magic debuff, Darkblast momentarily infuses the target with necrotic magic, causing a brief fatigue. Doesn't deal damage so much as it physically weakens and debilitates the target. Absorbed from a Rune-Scarred Demon in Mission 121.
  • [Fire] A ball of flame that goes hurtling at the target. Absorbed from Tower Guardian in Mission 196.

  • [Final Spark] Letty's ultimate attack. Using the full, unlocked power of the Legacy Engine, Letty focuses all of the magical power inside him into a single, enormous Holy elemental beam, several feet wide in scope and insanely powerful. The beam lasts for several seconds as the entirety of his mana is dumped into it. Afterwards, Letty is completely spent, and is only able to cast Berserker Soul. Absorbed on Letty's ascension to Ultimate Lifeform.
  • [Berserker Soul] (A.K.A: Brooklyn Rage) The only spell or ability to negate Letty's glass jaw, Berserker Soul locks Letty out of *any* casting at all. His eyes glow red, and his melee strength increases slightly. Whenever Letty takes damage, his strength and endurance grow exponentially. If Letty doesn't take damage to increase his endurance, his body begins to deteriorate until he passes out. Only when no more hostiles are present will Berserker Soul's effects fade. When Berserker Soul is activated, Letty gains access to several new skills and abilities.
    • [Bloody Cross] An advanced move of Revision Two's, Bloody Cross blocks and catches an incoming arm with Letty's own, be it a punch, chop, or anything, and locks it and the attacker into an armbar. He then thrusts his other arm up into the target's ribs or abs, punching straight upward, forming his arms into a cross. Absorbed from Revision Two.
    • [Dempsey Roll] The user lowers their stance and central balance to begin with and begins to aggressively weave their body in a pattern similar to the shape of a figure eight, making it increasingly difficult for the opponent to track and trace their movements accurately. The user then fires (starting from either left or right) series of rapidly executed punches whilst continuing their bobbing and weaving, catching the target in a high paced barrage of punches that few succeed on escaping from. Absorbed on Letty's ascension to Ultimate Lifeform.

Powers & Merits

Letty is a synth - that is short for synthetic human. Inside his electronic brain is what is known as a thaumaheuristic processor unit, which serves his ultimate purpose, unknown to him - eradicate all magic users in the multiverse. The TPU - for short - is able to, when circumstances allow, record the casting of any supernatural, magical, or energy-based attack, and then save the 'blueprints' of such an attack for use later. Any elemental or type affinity is filtered through Letty's enormous magical reserves and transformed into proper type.

Letty's TPU has been upgraded by the ascension to the Ultimate Lifeform, automatically able to adjust and alter spells to his liking that he's recorded. He is also able to learn and create spells naturally. The TPU is also now able to, through thaumaheuristics, make any designated allies completely immune to any portion of his spells, as well as lower the power of his spells to non-lethal if necessary to detain.

Ascension has also strengthened his tensile durability, with his bones reinforced metal now and his skin fully synthetically enhanced, able to take more in the way of damage.

When casting, Letty's eyes change color.

The Legacy Engine: Letty's energy core, located in his chest, is a immense font of pure magical power that fuels both his life systems and the TPU itself. It is very nearly infinite, and is able to recharge fairly quickly.

  • Boom Boom Fruit - While having eaten the Boom Boom Fruit, Letty's DNA has been severely altered, negating the ability he once had.
  • Burning Aura (2): Your aura is unusually brilliant; even people who can't read auras will be inexplicably drawn to you. Some may see you as a threat or a snack. (Letty's power core is difficult to hide, humming with raw mana and energy.)
  • Concentration (1): You are very good at focusing, and suffer no penalty for distractions, stress or having to repeat yourself often.
  • Acute Senses (1) (Sight): One of your five senses is incredibly sharp, and Alertness rolls involving this sense have a +1 Bonus. You must buy this merit separately for each sense. (Letty's TPU has been upgraded, ocular scanners at the height of technology.)
  • Clear Sighted (3): You are not fooled by illusions, and you get an Alertness roll to see through illusions, Difficulty 7, any time you face one.
  • Luck (3): You manage to succeed in places when others fail. You can repeat three failed rolls per MISSION, one repeat per roll, and the second roll always stands.

Weaknesses & Flaws

  • Sensation Junkie (2): You're addicted to sensation, and will do anything to find new means of stimulation. If the opportunity presents itself, you need something distracting you to resist the urge, and only by making a roll (Diff 6). (Being a year old in whole, Letty has a hard time resisting things that functionally seem great.)
  • Addiction (1): You are addicted to some substance, such as caffeine, nicotine, etc. You will start to crave the substance if you don't get it often enough, and have to spend time and money to counter it. The larger the flaw, the more dependent you are on the substance, and the worse things will happen if you don't get what you need. After jonesing for long enough all your rolls are at -1 Penalty. -2 if a three point flaw. A one point flaw will never incur penalties, but you should start RP'ing out how badly you need a drink or smoke and be easily distracted by that very idea. (Letty is addicted to caffeine, specifically energy drinks and soda.)
  • Dark Secret (1): There's something about you which you don't want people to know, and it would be very bad if they did (or at least you think it would be). (Letty's ascension to the Ultimate Lifeform has made him realize his full purpose of his maker, and thusly, Letty frequently and unconsciously formulates how to kill every metahuman, mutant, and magic user he meets. Even his friends. This makes him abhor his programming.)
  • Deep Sleeper (1): Waking up is hard; getting you moving is hard enough (-2 on all rolls to wake up), getting you comprehending what's going on after you're up isn't much easier (Your rolls in the next few minutes.. up to 30 minutes.. are at -1.) (Letty now requires much more in the way of sleep to recharge, due to his heightened energy use.)
  • Glass Jaw: Letty's power intake comes at a structural price. For some reason, his jaw is *incredibly* vulnerable, an even light thrust, punch, or assault that hits his jawline possessing the ability to KO him directly on the spot. If a hit to the jaw connects, he is immediately out for several rounds.
