Appearance

Pale skin, long pink hair and blue eyes. Often dresses as a tomboy, in a tank top or bike shorts. If she needs to wear a uniform, she'll typically choose a boy's style over others. When dueling, she'll typically wear her black boy's top with red bike shorts.

Personality

Utena is a tomboyish, courageous and naïve character who lives to emulate the idealized prince figure from her childhood. She is forthright, honest, and friendly.

Background

Her parents died when she was young, and a Prince saved her from wanting to kill herself. He gave her a ring, and told her to never lose her nobility.

She grew up wanting to emulate that Prince.

Eventually, she enrolled at Ohtori Academy, and saved Himemiya Anthy from being bullied by Kyouchi Saionji. She won the duel, and as a result became "engaged" to Anthy, the Rose Bride. By doing so, she was thrust into the mysterious, and tedious, world of the duels.

Sword of Dios - Through her engagement to the Rose Bride, Anthy, Utena has earned the right to weild the Sword of Dios. At the beginning of a duel, she will draw this from Anthy after she goes into her trance. She becomes incredible at swordplay while wielding it (and was pretty good originally!)
