Background

The daughter of Maya and Souichirou... Saya was pretty much raised by her father, she was kept away from the other family as well as from Toudou in fear that Souhaku, Saya's grandfather, would try to take over her body because of her ability to use the Dragon Fist and the Dragon Eye. She knows a little bit about her family but not much; Just that she does have a half sister and that her father thinks her half sister's dad is a fag. She also has the awakening of the Ryugan (dragon's eye) from the Natsume clan.. which is why she was kept away from Reiki, the family's sword and from Aya's side of the family and her cousins.

Now that Souhaku is still at large and Nagi's mother has had some dangerous premonitions, Nagi has suggested for Saya to join PARADIGM since Ryoku, her cousin, had been there and it has been noted that the agents there have great power and the ability to keep her safe for the time being. It was also suggested that at least there, she could start living a relatively more normal life. Nagi agreed with this, even if that meant his daughter would leave him, since he is a good guy and wants good things for his kid. A good portion of time before leaving, Saya was able to get reacquainted with her mother and due to no one being responsible for the sacred sword of the Natsume clan.. Saya now finds it in her position. She is hesitant on using it unless it's extremely dire.

Special Abilities

(These are skills, things that can be learned or trained, like martial arts techniques, Jutsu or magic spells. Abilities that are outside the norm of regular humans, but only because they have not had access to them.)

  • Sword fighting!
    She knows how to fight with swords. She uses regular swords as well as finally having her hands on her family's kodachi, Reiki.
  • Uraate (裏当て; lit. "Backing", "Reverse Striking"): This is fulcrum-based transference skill, an example of KI transmission that teaches one to shift the point and force of impact by striking the dead center of an object. At expert-levels, a practitioner can transmit the force of impact wherever they please, as long as a medium exists to transmit their power through. This technique forms the basis for most KI-based techniques used throughout the series.
  • Natsume Goushin-Ryū Kongou Hasshiki: Taizan Hougou (Natsume-Style Advanced Exercise, 8th Degree: Mt. Tai Demolishing Roar): A technique which uses "reverse striking" transference through a stiff-shoulder charge to shift the force and impact of the blow over a distant, demolishing most anything upon impact with its pressure wave.
  • Natsume Goushin-Ryū Kongou Hasshiki: Renkan Tenpen Tetsukageki (Natsume-Style, Advanced Exercise, 8th Degree: Linking Heavenly Iron Attack): This move is a set of precise, bone-crushing blows.
  • Natsume Goushin-Ryū: Radotenko (棗剛真流 羅どう天靠, Natsume-Style: Eye-connecting Heavenly Twist): A technique combining a fierce shoulder charge with an immediate release of KI upon impact that sends the opponent flying backwards.
  • Natsume Goushin-Ryu: Tsuba Otoshi (棗剛真流鍔落とし, The Natsume Sword Handle Drop): A sword-technique that puts emphasis on the handle while dealing an overhead swing, upping the cutting force of the blade. However, when facing the Iron Skin of the Kagiroi family, this technique proves utterly ineffective.
  • Tetsushikō (Iron Finger): Known to be a particularly lethal technique. Using one finger, the user punches through the muscle and directly striking the internal organs, particularly the liver.
  • Ryukei Qigong Tashinkō (龍形気功鍛針功; lit. "Dragon Qi, Forged Iron Needle") The Takayanagi family's greatest secret technique, one of the technique of the so-called Hatsukei, or "power release". Utilizing the skill "Uraate", the user can transmit their power through the air itself. The first step is collecting the constantly accelerating rotational force that begins from the feet on up, until it is forged into a needle using their KI. Next, this honed, atmospheric force is redirected from the circular motion to a straight line (via punch), and sent barreling into the target. Mitsuomi had taught this technique to Saya's mother and she in turn has taught it to her.
  • Ryukei Qigong Tashikou: Shiryū Enretsu Sen (龍形氣功鍛針功•四龍炎裂孅, Dragon-Ki Qigong Forged Needle: Four Flaming Raging Dragons' Massacre): This ki-based technique coordinates two Forged Iron Needles with the Raging Blazing Double Dragon Palm, producing a four-headed ki-based dragon. Obviously THIS CANNOT be done without someone else doing the same attack, like say Ryoku. But this is being listed for completion purposes.

Powers & Merits

  • Thunderous Lighting Rapid Strike ("Red Emperor Dragon - Lightning Arrow Step"): A striking technique that delivers a multi-voltage electroshock to the target through a punch. This move requires direct contact with the ground using the fighter's legs to estabilish the electrical connection with surrounding electrical fields.
  • Kabane Blade
    Hirohiko's Red Feather Power is the ability to flow his ki to other objects[11] through scent particles and dust. By doing so he can shape his ki around the object to make something new, most commonly he changes needles into blades. He can turn literally any object he has touched into something else, even the floor underneath him.
  • Dragon's Fist
    Each of the six Red Wing families possesses a unique chakra, or dragon gate. The Nagi family possess the Dragon's Fist (???). These fists have the ability to collect, store and utilize an inexhaustible supply of ki obtained by "eating" the ki and abilities of others. It is this most unusual and powerful ability of the Red Wing families that Souhaku, Souichiro's father, wants so badly. As he plans to gather all the powers and abilities.
  • Looping Red Earth Dragon's Gate
    The first chakra and true nature of Souichiro's ki: "earth ki". When his gate opens, Souichiro can harness the earth's electrical fields and generate electricity. However, this works as long as his legs are connected to the earth. If no contact is made between the ground and his legs, his power remains idle. The full form of the Red Earth Dragon's chakra is unleashed as the "Thunderous Lighting Rapid Strike" ("Red Emperor Dragon
  • Looping Orange Water Dragon's Gate
    The second chakra, with power over "water ki". Using his Dragon Fist, Souichiro inadvertently sealed Tessen Ishiyumi's dragon within him. But with this chakra, as long as there is contact with water, Souichiro can manipulate it using his ki. After consuming Tessen's Water Dragon, Souichiro acquired the ability to fashion Water Chakra H2O Bullets as strong as steel using its chakra; and using Ishiyumi Style Archery, he can use this ability when no water was present by substituting his own blood to fashion his bullets.
  • Dragon's Claw
    The unique "Red Feather Power" of the Shyukyou family -- A branch of the Kabane family. The chakra of the Dragon's Claws narrowly focuses one's ki into razor-thin blades as its passes through their fingertips; effectively transforming them into nigh-impossibly sharp spears. Souichiro was likely able to steal the Dragon Claws from their wielder, Mataza Tsumuji, using his Dragon's Fists. He has yet to actually use this power however.
  • Looping Green Wind Dragon's Gate: Imperial Deer Legs
    This is the prized technique of the Kamura clan. It utilizes the chakra of Looping Green Wind Dragon to release a burst amounts of their ki to their legs, briefly boosting their strength. It's this ability which enables those practitioners of the Kamura's 1,000 Tatami Mat Leaping Imperial Deer Legs Style (??????????) to make their extraordinary leaps; even in a single bound. Souichiro collects this ability from Shizuru Kamura.
  • Ryugan: Saya has the ability to use the Dragon eyes from the Natsume clan. She can see flashes of the future which she cannot control but she can keep the sights of DEAD people at bay thanks to her training. ...which is good because that kind of set people in her family insane.. and that sucks.

Merits

  • Iron Will (5): You cannot be mind-controlled easily, and getting you to surrender is borderline impossible. When magical (or other) mind-control is attempted on you, both roll and you get a +3 bonus to your roll. It's possible to do it, but you'll fight it with every fiber of your being, and will not stay in thrall very long.
  • Concentration (1): You are very good at focusing, and suffer no penalty for distractions, stress or having to repeat yourself often.
  • Graceful (2): You are extremely agile and delicate in your movements. +1 Bonus on all Athletics rolls.
  • Burning Aura (2): Your aura is unusually brilliant; even people who can't read auras will be inexplicably drawn to you. Some may see you as a threat or a snack.

Motorcycle and Reiki.

  • Reiki - a Nodachi passed down from the Natsume Clan. It has the ability to amplify powers of certain bloodlines. If someone who does not have a bloodline ability tries to wield Reiki, it's just a really long sword.

-Ryugan usage: The Dragon's Eye is known for its capacity to consume KI indefinitely, so sustaining it too long can cause the user to lose consciousness.

-Isolated: Saya was constantly on the run with her father since she was very young.. because of that she's never really had many experiences as a regular teenage girl. She sometimes wonders what it would have been like to be raised normally.

Flaws

  • Otherworldly Taint (2): You have a physical peculiarity (odd hair/eye color, glowing eyes, etc.) and/or just an odd aura about you which may make you stick out. Someone who suspects you're not "normal" may make an Alertness roll, difficulty 7, to determine what you are. (when she uses the Ryugan her eyes turn reptilian. ..and when she uses her Dragon Fist her appearance changes)
  • Disturbing Mannerism (2): You have a habit or character trait which is peculiar, gross, or annoying. You may not even be aware of it-but boy, everyone else is. Penalties of social rolls are increased at the GM's discretion. (Saya was raised by her dad, so.. she's got tendencies to not act Lady-like at all. She's very in your face and some people would find this offputting)
  • Enemy (4): Somebody's out to hurt you or your reputation, or even kill you (or people close to you). A 1-point enemy is less than or comparable to your own ability, a 5-point enemy could easily kick your ass into next Tuesday. Note: the severity of the flaw also explains how much the person is out to get you. A 5pt Enemy is pretty much dedicated to pounding your ass in (and can), whereas a 1pt enemy is either a devoted Rival or a stronger opponent who'll take any chance to crush you but generally ignores you unless you get in their face. Taking a 3-5 Point enemy is basically asking the GM to send out a SERIOUSLY dangerous person after you on a regular basis. (Sohaku wants her body.)
  • Isolated Upbringing (1): You were raised in your supernatural society, or were somehow otherwise sequestered away from "normal" life, so you have trouble dealing with this Outside-World thing. Dealing with any community outside the one in which you were raised raises a -1 Penalty on Social rolls, when RP'ing accomodates it. (She was mostly on the run with her father, never really got to grow up like a normal girl :()
