Appearance

Attractive, slender young man, framed like an intellectual rather than a warrior, wearing dark-themed but sharply designed clothing. He likes to add flair to everything he wears, so he has shoulder pads and a cape to accentuate his magical acumen, in lieu of the long black coat.

Personality

Flamboyant, driven, ambitious and with a bit of a wild streak. Blaze is after the finer things in life. He knows how powerful he is, he knows how smart he is, and he has no qualms about letting others know. He considers himself the most powerful spell caster (to be) in the world and will gladly share this with everyone. He brims with self-confidence and does not see anything a match for his wits or his power. While generally well-meaning, he has joked about taking over the world and making it his own. He is, after all, the Lord of Ipsen castle, and others should treat him as such.

Background

After the mass migration of Genomes to Gaia, they began to adapt to life in this new world. They moved apart, got married, and soon started to become part of this new world. Unfortunately, they still had limited lifespans, save for those who were born from another race. This was the fate of Blaze. A young Genome child whose father walked out on his Genome mother, before her lifespan ran out. Afraid for what might happen to her child, she took him to the Black Mage Village, where others of her kind had been living, and asked for sanctuary. There, she raised her son for the next few years, before she inevitably passed out. The boy was then taken care of by the Black Mage Village, where he learned everything about the present, and only very little about his past.
From his 'aunt' Mikoto, Blaze learned of his other extended 'family', and wanted to grow up to be like them. A strong and respected man, who would never be abandoned or walked out on again. He did as much research as he could, and found out two things. Zidane Tribal was now the King of Alexandria, and Kuja had once owned a castle. Declaring himself royalty, Blaze set out to learn more magic, and eventually moved into Ipsen Castle, where he declared himself the King. With no rightful owners, and no subjects, there was no objection to this, and thus began the rule of Blaze the First, King of Ipsen. From this magical castle, the young Genome learned more magic and had the chance to practice against many monsters as he cleared out the castle, room after room, until he was alone. This process took a long time, and lots of travel to other parts of the world, but it was finally his.

Special Abilities

Staff Combat: Blaze is skilled at using a staff in combat. He can defend himself against armed opponents and even disarm bandits or brigands. He's been known to win a few battles against physical opponents with it. However, this is not his specialty.
Tactician: Blaze is actually very well versed in Tactics and strategy. He knows how to maneuver troops and even a smaller group of people into accomplishing difficult tasks. He works better with a team, despite his loner nature.
Chocobo Riding: Blaze is highly trained at riding, racing, and taking care of Chocobos.

Black Magic: Blaze is a highly skilled Black Mage, raised among the Black Mage Village. He has learned the following Spells.

• Fire Line: Blaze's signature magic spells, he has mastered the Fire-elemental spell line all the way to the dreaded and oft-forgotten Firaja.
• Blizzard Line: The ability to use ice elemental magic, from Blizzard to Blizzaga.
• Thunder Line: The ability to use lightning elemental magic, from Thunder to Thundaga.
• Water Line: The ability to use water elemental magic, from Water to Wateraga.
• Bio Line: The ability to use poison elemental magic, from Bio to Bioga.
• Drain Line: The ability to drain the life force of an enemy to restore himself, with Drain and Drainga.
• Dark Line: The ability to use darkness elemental magic, from Dark to Darkga.

Single Use Spells

• Ruin: A powerful non-elemental spell, which hits a single target.
• Quake: A powerful Earth-elemental spell, which hits all targets.
• Tornado: A powerful Wind-elemental spell, which hits all targets.
