Powers & Merits

Aki has the ability to use the power of Ceres, a tennyo, or celestial maiden—a powerful, otherworldly being from Japanese mythology. When Aki turned 16, her latent power awakened much like her mother, and Ceres begins to manifest through her when she's emotionally distressed or in danger.

As a Tennyo, Aki has the following abilities:

• Celestial (Tennyo) Form
  • Ceres is a divine and immortal being, far beyond human in power and beauty. When Ceres takes over Aki's body, she gains enhanced supernatural abilities.

• Telekinesis & Psychic Force
  • She can manipulate objects and people with her mind.
  • She's able to create forceful blasts of energy or hurl enemies away effortlessly.

• Flight
  • Ceres can levitate and fly, reflecting her celestial nature.

• Elemental/Aetheric Power
  • While not overtly elemental in the way some fantasy stories depict, Ceres emits pure spiritual energy that can destroy or cleanse, especially when enraged.

• Regeneration & Longevity
  • As a tennyo, she is functionally immortal and cannot age.
  • She's also highly resilient to injury, though not completely invulnerable.

• Energy Imprinting
  • Ceres has the ability to infuse people, objects, or even bloodlines with her celestial power — either intentionally or unintentionally. This isn't just raw energy — it's an imprint of her essence: overwhelming, divine, and sometimes destructive. She will only give a small bit of her power as it can have disasterous effects if given too much.

Weaknesses & Flaws

• Memory Projection / Ancestral Recall
  • Aki sometimes experiences visions or memories of Ceres' past. She really hates this.

• Dependence on Aki's Body
  • Ceres cannot fully exist without Aki. She's limited to possessing her unless she regains her hagoromo. This makes her vulnerable—if Aki dies, Ceres may vanish or remain dormant.

• Emotional Instability
  • Her powers often trigger during emotional surges—rage, grief, or fear. Ceres can be dangerously unstable when provoked, sometimes threatening allies unintentionally.

• Hagoromo Dependency
  • The hagoromo (celestial robe) is the key to her full power and freedom. Without it, she is trapped in Aki’s human body and cannot return to her celestial realm.

• Host Conflict
  • Aki and Ceres occasionally disagree. Aki mostly suppresses Ceres, who seems OK with this for now..

• Vulnerable to Anti-Tennyo Technology
  • The Mikage Corporation develops weapons and genetic experiments to suppress or destroy Ceres. These include cloned tennyo offspring like Miori, or genetically modified beings like Yuuhi's brother, who were engineered to counteract or kill Ceres. This is also why Aki doesn't trust anyone.

• Madness and Obsession
  • Prolonged exposure to Ceres’ presence or energy causes obsessive devotion or rage, especially in men descended from Mikagi. They either worship her, fear her, or try to control her.
