SPECIAL ABILITIES, POWERS
Swordmage: Ailwin is a swordmage, an Elven elite. He is able to fight while casting spells, and his movements are like a dance, captivating and deadly. He doesn't have to use words, letting the sound of his sword and the movements of his body cast the spell for him.
Swordsman: Ailwin is a master with the blade, which is why he's the Royal Guard. He is able to use any lighter sword (short, long, rapier, katana, etc) with ease, and has some experience with heavier swords as well, although he can't use the Swordmagics with them. He has enough skill to duel up to five experts at once without being overwhelmed, letting his free-flowing movement and dance-like abilities act as a shield and armor for him. He is amazingly skilled, and has several combat techniques.
- Bloodless Cut: Ailwin can slash so fast his opponent gets cut without getting touched. Doing this repeatedly can lead to the death of 1000 cuts. The reason it has this name is because his blade doesn't get blood on it from the slash.
- Twist of Fate: Ailwin parries the thrust or slash of an opponent, then twists every part of his body, disabling the opponent's sword arm at the wrist, elbow and shoulder, rolling behind him like a dancer, with his blade pointed at their neck, from behind.
- Flickering Blade: Ailwin can move so fast he can evade an attack and blur to the opponent's side (or sometimes, back), forcing them in a bad position, and letting him perform an attack.
Sorcerer: Ailwin is an expert spellcaster, as with many Elves. He is more than capable of casting as per normal, but his true skill lies in casting spells by weaving a dance with his blade. He has several spells, most of them combat oriented, but a few of them exist for defensive purposes and utility.

NOTABLE ITEMS
Elven Chain Mail: A beautifully decorated suit of armor. Ailwin was awarded this armor for his position as Royal Guard. He has cherished and maintained it since. This is a potent suit of armor which makes no noise, and allows Ailwin to use his Swordmagic without error, allowing him to move as if he were wearing nothing at all. It is magically imbued and thus, highly resistant to all types of damage, even protecting from magical spells and attacks.
Vorondal: A magical sword earned by Ailwin in his service to the Royal Family. It is highly magical, and makes a beautiful sound when swung. The blade can be used, with a word, as a purely defensive weapon, in which case he can even deflect volleys of arrows, but he can't fight as he does this. This is usually invoked to defend the Royal family. A second ability of the sword is, with another word, it can fight on its own, allowing him to draw another sword and take on even more enemies at once.
Siranis: Ailwin's backup sword. It is a highly decorated, beautiful Elf-made sword. It has no special abilities save for the same magical resistance other Elf weapons have, but it is FAR from invulnerable. He uses this when he activates Vorondal's second ability. He called it Siranis, a meaningless sound, because he likes how it sounds, and knows non-Elves will think it also magical.
WEAKNESSES
Loyalty to the End: Ailwin is devoted to the Royal family. To save their lives, he will sacrifice themselves, and will obey orders unquestioningly, with the Queen's supplanting the Prince's. He will not listen to his heart or even his logic, but will follow his orders to the letter.
Xenophobe: Not as bad as other Elves, but Ailwin does think rather poorly of other races, due to their coarseness and general lack of being an Elf. He considers most other races short sighted, violent, brutish and rather uncouth. He doesn't hate or fear them per se, but is rather condescending and unlikely to take their words as anything more than one would consider children's advice, no matter how seemingly founded it is.
