Personality
Avelyn is a noble, sweet, adventurous young woman with a love for treasure. She loves to possess it rather than use it to increase her personal wealth, and has a bit of a wide range of what she would consider treasure. She's bold and optimistic, characteristic of a relatively new adventurer who hasn't suffered any really serious setbacks yet.
Background
Born to Fiona and Glenn in the Middle Ages, Fiona lived a relatively isolated life in her mother's shrine, located in the middle of a desert that her mother and Uncle Robo are working to turn into a forest. She was homeschooled by both parents and her Uncle Robo, gaining a wide range of knowledge on nature, knighthood, etiquette, and the history of the world (even that history which has yet to come to pass). She was often taken with her father into town, as well as to visit the royal family at Guardia Castle, becoming friends with the current Princess of Guardia. She went against her father's wishes for her to become a Knight of Guardia, instead becoming an apprentice of Toma the Explorer.

Special Abilities

- Water – Launches a concentrated blast of high-pressure water to strike enemies at range. Effective for pushing enemies back or extinguishing small fires.
- Cleansing Stream – Summons a gentle stream of magically-purified water to wash away minor poisons, dirt, or magical corruption. Can also soothe mild burns or irritants.
- Bubble Shield – Forms a shimmering sphere of water around herself or an ally that softens incoming blows and reduces elemental damage briefly.

- Riptide – Sends a fast-moving surge of water along the ground that knocks enemies off their feet and washes away magical effects or traps.
- Raincall – Summons a brief downpour in a localized area, restoring stamina and mildly healing allies while damping fire-based attacks.
- Aqua Lance – Condenses water into a spear-like projectile that pierces armor and strikes with extreme precision.
- Tier 3:
- Torrential Wrath – Unleashes a powerful cascade of magical rain and surging waves in a wide area, dealing heavy damage and potentially sweeping weaker foes away.
- Sanctifying Deluge – Calls down a cleansing storm that damages the undead and curses while greatly healing allies.
- Maelstrom’s Grasp – Conjures a whirlpool or vortex that pulls enemies inward and holds them in place for follow-up attacks.
- Tier 1:
- Swordplay – Knight’s Style: Precise and honorable sword techniques taught by Glenn. Avelyn has learned the following techniques:
- Guardian’s Step – A swift sidestep followed by a riposte meant to exploit overextended attackers.
- Frog’s Leap – A leaping overhead strike inspired by her father’s agility in frog form.
- Sanctified Slash – A graceful horizontal cut infused with a slight pulse of life magic to ward off evil or undead.
- Valor Sweep – A spinning low strike meant to knock enemies off balance while clearing space.
- Shieldbind – A defensive maneuver that locks weapons with a parry and opens a window for counterattack.
- Herbal Healing Arts: Uses natural remedies and herbal lore to treat wounds.

Innocent (2): You have an aura of childlike innocence (whether you really are or not). +1 Bonus involving Subterfuge or Manipulation.
Code of Honor (1): You follow a strict personal code, and any attempt to make you break it or act against it via magic or other unnatural coercion (regular coercion is basically impossible) is done with an opposed roll in which you have a +2 bonus. You must write down your code of honor with a GM, and it must be followed at all times. If you break it for frivolous or even worthy reasons, you risk losing your bonuses, because a Code is to be followed for good or ill.

Danger Sense (3): "Oh no! My Spider Senses are tingling!" A successful Alertness roll, difficulty depending on the situation, will give you a timely sense of foreboding before something bad happens...

- Enchanted sword forged by Melchior with the Green Dream in its hilt.
- Lifeburst Slash – Healing and fatigue-inducing energy wave.

- Pulse of the Green Dream – Detects cursed or magically unstable ground.
- Crescendo Cleave – Absorbs life energy from nearby living things throughout the battle. Then, can release a charged slash of green fire that damages enemies and purifies undead or unnatural foes.
The Green Tongue: A long, magically reinforced whip of living vines. It can extend and wrap around objects or enemies to pull them closer, retrieve distant items, or swing across gaps. In combat it can entangle or trip enemies.

Weaknesses & Flaws

- Tends to avoid killing when possible, even when it puts her in danger.
- Naively trusting—her big heart can be exploited by manipulators.
- Vulnerable to dark magic despite her resistance to death magic.
Soft-hearted (1): You can't stand to witness suffering, and if you do, all your rolls are at -2 penalty for the next hour.
Curiosity (2): Your incredible curiosity often overrides your common sense. Resisting temptation requires a successful Wits roll, difficulty depending on the situation. A very bad flaw to take with certain evil sadistic GMs.
Short (1): You are well below average height, and have difficulty reaching high objects, seeing over things, etc. -2 penalty to pursuit rolls. On the up side, you may get bonuses to hiding attempts.
Compulsive Speech (aka Big Mouth) (1): For whatever reason, you have difficulty sticking to the rule, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all." 1 point makes you talkative and a bit blunt; 2 points makes you a complete prick.
